Can My PC Run Madden 22?
Madden 22 is an extremely popular game on consoles but also, perhaps surprisingly to some, has a thriving PC community too.
If you’re asking “but can my PC run Madden 22?” then you’ve come to the right place.
In this article, you can easily browse the Madden NFL 22 system requirements and if they match what you have.
If you want to see if your PC can run Madden 22, read on to find out.
Minimum System Requirements for Madden 22
CPU: Intel i3 6th generation, AMD Athlon X4 880K
GPU: NVIDIA GTX 660, AMD Radeon 460
RAM: 8 GB RAM
STORAGE: At least 50 GB of free space
OS: Windows 10 64-Bit
EA recommends, at the very least, an Intel i3 6th gen, an AMD Athlon X4 880K, or better.
Sports simulation video games like Madden 22 have a tendency to be CPU-centric. Simulations have sequential execution in-game that needs processing in real time. Your graphics card is not concerned with all that and it is more of a CPU thing.
For example, the trajectory by which the ball is thrown or the number of players running in the field is not necessarily being calculated by the GPU. That is the CPU’s job.
Madden 22 and other simulation games have a lot of action than graphic rendering which is why we recommend an Intel i5 3rd gen or an AMD FX 8150.
Your computer should at least have an NVIDIA GTX 660, an AMD Radeon RX 460, or any GPU that could support at least a DirectX 11 or something similar.
We believe this is pretty sufficient for Madden 22. If ever you do decide to get a better GPU, you will automatically be utilizing DirectX 12 anyway and that is hardly a problem.
Whenever you do decide to get a better GPU especially to run Madden 22 at ultra settings, consider getting an NVIDIA 1000-series or an AMD Radeon RX 560.
At most, you can run the game at 1080p and enjoy the smoothness of the graphic rendering. Of course, you have to pair this with a good monitor. Asus ROG and Alienware have some pretty good hardware that can last you a long time.
Make sure to at least have 8 GB of RAM installed to pave way for the game to startup and run smoothly.
On the other hand, EA’s recommended requirement is 12 GB of RAM and we agree with this sentiment. However, make sure you get a DDR4 with at least 3,200 MHz. A unit like that can cost as low as $50 and it could easily be a good investment despite the price.
Having a high RAM is not an assurance that the game will not experience any hitches. It would be best if you optimize your RAM usage by doing RAM allocation techniques or simply closing apps and freeing RAM usage.
Prior to installation, make sure you have at least 50 GB of free space. Yes, it is that big.
There are no specifics listed by EA on their website or on Steam when it comes to what SSD or HDD you should actually purchase. For this reason, we personally recommend the following:
First, your computer must have an SSD. SSDs are faster and not just in a few seconds kind of way. The moment you open your computer, your SSD is instantly accessible. This also means the loading time is faster, the rebooting is quicker, and your applications are just generally more responsive.
Second, get at least 480 GB of SSD and 1 TB of HDD. An HDD is essential to, well, making the computer actually work. At a minimum, get your SSD and HDD with the following capacities.
It is important for your PC to have good or even excess memory so that you will not experience issues during the installation of Madden 2 as well as other games or apps.
If you bought a processor with a motherboard combo, then there is no need to worry. If you are planning to completely revamp your PC or build your PC from scratch, you have to greatly consider what motherboard you will be choosing.
If you are sticking with an i3 6th gen or an AMD Athlon X4 880K, you can stick with an H110 or A68HM-K motherboard. Do note that if you have these motherboards, you will not be able to upgrade 9th gen CPUs.
For this reason, you might want to buy B360 motherboard paired with a good processor.
EA is already requiring Windows 10 64-Bit for this game.
You should do well to follow this advice. If you are still on Windows 7, we cannot assure you that Madden 22 will run on your PC smoothly. Windows 7 is often said to be superb when it comes to app support and is also hailed as one of the best versions of Windows ever.
While we can agree with this sentiment, Madden NFL 22 is created with Windows 10 in mind. It is probably not that compatible with Windows 7.
Take the leap. Upgrade.
Your internet should be at least 512 Kbps or faster to actually utilize the multiplayer component of Madden 22. However, If you truly want to enjoy the game without any lags, get a high speed broadband connection.
Try to get an entry level connection of 5-10 Mbps. What is more important than the speed though is the reliability of your internet especially when you are in multiplayer. You may try to optimize your router for a better gaming experience.
You can still play Madden 22 offline but a majority of the game modes are played offline.
Madden 22 requires some mid-range specs so that it will run smoothly on your computer. The game places importance on the GPU and storage.
When the GPU and storage are out of the way, you can get some pretty affordable parts for the other required components and your PC will still be able to run Madden 22.
