Forza Horizon 5 makes Mexico its personal playground. Aside from races taking place in every corner of the map, there are also some curious flags and banners strewn across the map, waiting for would-be daredevils and drifters to take part.

Enter Horizon Rush, the festival which encourages the brave and the bold to challenge themselves in PR stunts in Forza Horizon 5 that are scattered on the map. And as the name suggests, its goal is to get you into a rush, for both viewers and drivers.

In this guide, we will be looking at how you can unlock the Forza Horizon 5 PR stunts festival, what you can do to ensure that you get the maximum number of accolades when doing the expedition for it, the rewards you get from completing the expedition, and what this festival brings to the Horizon Festival as a whole.

How Do You Unlock Horizon Rush?

Horizon Rush can be unlocked by spending an Adventure token on its respective ticket and unlocking the expedition connected to it. In this case, you can unlock Horizon Rush by going through and completing the Canyon Expedition.

This expedition will appear on your map as a red icon with a danger sign on it. The Horizon Rush location is near Playa Azul, on a road beside Riviera Maya. Simply drive towards that location on the map and enter the event.

Part 1: From Dusk ’til Dawn; Starting the Canyon Expedition

The Canyon Expedition is divided into 3 main parts. For the first part, you will be driving the 1982 Porsche 911 Turbo 3.3 souped-up in road rally trim. By starting the expedition, the time-of-day changes to late afternoon when the sun is setting.

Rami invites you to the Fiesta del la Luna, or the Festival of the Moon, which is being held at the beach. Your first objective is to drive to the location.

Simple enough, just follow the map, but watch out for the sharp right just before the entrance to the beach. There is no time limit so enjoy the scenery for what it is.

Once you make it to the beach, the sun sets even more and you will see in the distance some fireworks. This is where the Fiesta del la Luna is. Head on over to that site to begin the second part of the expedition.

Part 2: The Fiesta del la Luna; Driving the Parade Float

Once you have arrived at the party, it is now effectively dusk. Rami then brings out a special car for you to drive in exchange for the Porsche. Yes, you will be the one driving the parade float!

Simply drive from the start of the parade to the end of it in order to complete this part. If you are driving manual, do not forget to shift gears, it can go up to the 3rd!

As you drive through the parade, Jaimin exclaims that parades always felt a bit too slow for him, which hints at what happens in the next part of the expedition.

Part 3: The Afterparty; Ending the Canyon Expedition

As your stint at the party ends, you wake up to morning and are out driving the float once again, but this time it has been upgraded and can move quite fast. Your first objective is to try out the upgraded float and drive into the canyons.

The next challenge is a speed trap to test out its power. Simply drive through the speed trap cameras and you will be done with this objective. It can be at any speed, just make sure to pass through the speed trap cameras for the objective to register.

The final objective is to jump the parade float up a danger sign. Gun it and make that thing fly up the ramp to complete the Canyon Expedition.

Rewards for Unlocking the PR Stunt Festival

Completing the Canyon Expedition rewards you with the Fiesta Del La Luna Chicken Suit costume for your characters, a bunch of accolades, and a hefty amount of XP. A bit light on the reward side, that is for sure.

You will also unlock the Horizon Rush festival which is located at the top of Copper Canyon, near the lift sign. It appears as a red “H” logo on the map.

Unlocking the Forza Horizon 5 Rush festival also opens up all the Danger Signs, Trailblazers, Speed Zones, Speed Traps, and Drift Zones on the map. You will be noticing a lot more ramps and banners as you drive around Mexico because of this.

As a side note, you can also unlock other festivals such as cross-country and dirt-racing.

Most of these events rely on sheer speed, so getting a car like the Koenigsegg Jesko to do road-related Speed Traps and Speed Zones and the Hoonigan RS200 for the off-road ones is always a good idea. Just make sure that they are tuned to their fullest capabilities so that they are easy to obtain.

For Trailblazers, the Baja trucks like the Ford #2069 Ford Performance Bronco R or the Toyota #1 T100 Baja Truck will serve you well.

As for drift zones, any Formula Drift car is pretty much ready and set up for these challenges, but of course, you can always tune your own cars as most RWD cars will respond well with a good drift tune.

Some of these ramps will also open up ways into getting those XP Boards that are placed precariously on weird places like on the balcony of a beach resort.

Final Thoughts

Although the expedition itself is the shortest and does not really count as an expedition, and the rewards you get are mediocre, unlocking Horizon Rush just opens up to map to be a lot more vibrant and fun due to all the small activities you can do while you roam around Mexico.

Just make sure that the cars you are using for these activities are tuned to their best as they will require the maximum from you and your cars in order to 3-star them.
