Selling Your Cars
If you’re wondering how to get rid of cars in Forza Horizon 5, there are several ways of selling your cars but not all of them will net you any money if that is what you wanted to do. Other methods will have you wait for a bit before you can claim your money, while another will have you helping out other players.
Just remember that when you decide to sell or give away your car, this car will disappear from your garage and any mods and upgrades done to it will also go along with the sold car. So make sure that when you have decided to get rid of a car, you really want to let it go.
Below will be the way in which you can sell your cars, it is up to you on how fast or how you really want to deal with it.
The Garage / My Cars Screen
The Garage or My Cars screen is basically your collection screen. Here, you can view your cars one by one and sort them out as you would like. You can also select your car from this screen if you want to take it out for a drive or a race.
Through this screen, you can also get rid of your car, although sadly enough there is only one option in Forza Horizon 5 – Remove Car From Garage. When you select a car, a menu will pop up and at the bottom of this menu will appear this option.
If you choose to select this option, you will basically be deleting the car from your game. You will not get anything from this, it just gets rid of the car permanently, so be careful as you might be unlucky enough to do this to a very valuable car.
The only reason I would recommend you do this is if you want to keep a certain car rare by reducing the number of it available in the game world or if you are unfortunate enough to play the game completely offline, devoid of the other selling options.
This option would also probably be helpful to anyone just wanting to get rid of a car they do not want to see in their garage, and cannot sell it through other means (like auctioning).
Wheelspins and Super Wheelspins
Wheelspins and Super Wheelspins are probably the main ways you will be obtaining your cars in Forza Horizon 5. Since these are random, the chances of getting a few Forza Horizon 5 duplicate cars over time is pretty much inevitable.
Luckily, Forza Horizon 5 recognizes if you have gotten a duplicate by showing you a screen immediately after pulling your duplicate car. It will say that you already own this car and gives you two options on what to do with it, namely: “Add to Garage” and “Sell for X CR”.
If you are looking to sell your car, select the second option. This will be the only way you can instantly sell your car and earn money from it so be careful when opening multiple Wheelspins as you might accidentally add a car to your garage and end up having no option to earn money from it.
You would also like to keep a mental note of Hard-to-Find cars as some of them will sell a lot less on this screen than listing them in the Auction House because of their perceived rarity within the game.
The Auction House
The Auction House is another option for you to sell your cars for money although this method is a bit more involved than just selling them from a Wheelspin or from your Garage.
To sell your car through the Auction House, you must make sure that you are currently not driving the car you want to sell. Once that is done, simply go to the Auction House in the Buy & Sell menu and select the car you want to auction.
From here you can then set your price as well as the duration of the auction. After you have listed your car in the Auction House, all you need to do is wait until someone bids for it or buys it at full price and the car will be taken out of your hands. If the car fails to sell, you can reclaim your car and it will go back to your garage.
The car you put into the Auction House will have the modifications as well as the customization options you have put into the car so make sure that the car you are selling is not the one that you have been building for yourself.
The Auction House has a lot of options and settings so make sure to make the best of them in order to get the maximum profit from your car.
Gift Drops
Gift Drops are a new addition to the Forza Horizon series which allows you to gift a car to random Forza Horizon 5 players. This is a great way to help out new players or show appreciation to long-time players.
In order to Gift Drop a car, you simply go to the Gift Drop option in the My Horizon menu, and from there, select the car from your Garage that you want to gift, and send it out to players.
Gifting options are plentiful so you can customize your gift to cater to a specific demographic of drivers as well as show some love through pre-made messages for each group of players.
Once you have sent out your gift, a pop-up will appear saying that it will inform you if your gift has been received and opened by the player. The car will also disappear from your garage, getting rid of it. You do not get any money from this, but I would guess that it would make you feel better helping or surprising someone with a gift.
Take note that the car that you gift will retain the modifications and customizations done to it so go wild and create something special to make someone’s day just a little better.
