The Anemo Hypostasis elite boss is the trickiest Hypostasis boss in Genshin Impact. The boss can deal an absurd amount of damage if you do not know how the fight works.

To farm Anemo character ascension materials, you will need to kill the Anemo Hypostasis constantly and it also drops some great artifact sets. This guide will focus more on how to solo kill the Anemo Hypostasis if you cannot find a party to do co-op mode with.

Party Composition

For the Anemo Hypostasis fight, you would want a healer, a main DPS, and two support characters if possible. If not, you can use any character you have with great elemental damage skills and preferably ones who can do damage while not the active character like Xiangling and Fischl. Remember to avoid using Anemo characters and your main character should be resonated with Geo if you choose to use him/her.

To be safe for this fight, make sure to use your healer so that she can gain enough energy. Anemo Hypostasis’s shockwave attack can deal big damage if you fail to collect all the Anemo Orbs floating. You can still avoid the attack but you need to have a healer ready for its burst if it hits.

If you are doing this on world level 3 or 4, you will need good artifact gear on all your 4 characters. Make sure that every main stat possible on your artifact gear has percentages as their current rolls so that it is significantly better than flat main rolls.

Fervent Flames and Soothing Waters are a great elemental resonance to have. The bonus is received by adding two Pyro characters or two Hydro characters respectively. The Fervent Flames adds 25% more ATK and Soothing Water adds 30% more healing.

Tips and Tricks for Anemo Hypostasis Fight

Damaging the Anemo Hypostasis outright will not damage it. To damage this boss, you will need it to expose its core. The boss exposes its core every time after it attacks which gives you time to attack it for a couple of seconds. It is enough for you to cycle through all your character’s elemental skills.

Most of the Anemo Hypostasis’s attacks can be dodged by dashing sideways. An attack you need to worry about is its tornado attack. It goes into the middle of the arena and floats high up into the air.

During this time, it spawns multiple tornadoes around the arena moving at an average walking speed. As long as you run and dodge, it can never catch up to you. If you get hit, it will knock you back and potentially carry you towards the tornado’s direction. This might cause a chain of hits and kill your current character if you are not careful.

It also has a vacuum attack that can pull the player towards the center and explode. Just spam your dash away from it and make sure you have enough stamina when this happens. The Ameno Hypostasis will sometimes spawn Ameno Orbs that are floating in the air. You will wait until there are updrafts on the arena floor until you can clear them.

If you do not clear them, the boss will pull these Ameno Orbs one by one and cause a huge explosion. If you have no choice in collecting these Ameno Orbs, you can cycle between your characters per explosion so that the damage is evenly spread among your characters.

This can sometimes happen because if you are slow on damaging the boss and the updraft disappears, you have no way to collect those Ameno Orbs. This also heals the boss if it happens so make sure to keep an eye for updrafts when the Ameno Orbs do show up.

Other than those two attacks, everything should be easy. The last phase of the boss is activated when you deal lethal damage or if you get the boss to at least 5% HP. The Ameno Hypostasis’s last phase is unique from the other Hypostasis bosses. It spawns 4 updrafts around it in the center and you will need to collect 4 Ameno Orbs within a certain amount of time.

It is simple and easy to accomplish. After collecting the Ameno Orbs, the boss will heal slightly and you can kill it again when it exposes its core. This is where the boss will ultimately be defeated and the loot will show up.

Anemo Hypostasis Drops

The drops from the Anemo Hypostasis boss are the following and they vary greatly on the world level difficulty you are in and what the current level of the boss is.

  • Vayuda Turquoise from tier 2 to 5 (Silver, Fragment, Chunk and Gemstone)
  • Hurricane Seed
  • The Lucky Dog artifact set
  • The Berserker artifact set
  • The Instructor artifact set
  • The Gladiator’s Finale artifact set
  • The Wanderer’s Troupe artifact set

Conclusion

This is a popularly farmed boss because of the number of great Anemo characters available. Venti is one of the strongest characters in the game and is even the first rate up banner in Genshin Impact. The boss also drops great artifact sets and once you start farming this on world level 4, 5-star artifacts can start dropping at a higher rate. Of course, world bosses like the wolf trial and the Stormterror will have a higher drop percentage but they are done weekly unlike these elite bosses.
