The Secret of the Spring is a side quest found in Diablo 4’s Fractured Peaks. It leads you to a little pond, but no matter what you do, nothing changes.
There’s a little trick to it, and the hint is one of the game’s earliest side quests.

Side Quest Riddle Location
For the side quest location, it is located in the Fractured Peaks region, just north of Kyovashad.
The quest shows a strange note with a riddle on it – “Beacon of warmth in winter’s embrace, patience rewarded by nature’s own grace.”
Fast travel to Kyovashad and mount up to get there as quickly as possible.
Once you reach the location, you’ll see a simple pond. The area of the objective is also quite small, so you know it has something to do with the pond.
How to Solve the Riddle
To solve the riddle, it is actually very simple. If you remember the side quest at the start of the Diablo 4 campaign that required you to cheer at the soldiers, it is basically the same.
Since the riddle says, “patience rewarded by nature’s own grace,” open your emote wheel and look for what matches it.
Yes, you guessed it right. It is the “Wait” emote. Apply the emote to your wheel and use the “Wait” emote near the pond.
It should auto-complete the quest and spawn a lootable chest near the pond.
Since side quests are basically mandatory to complete the region progress rewards, you want to finish as many of these side quests as possible.
Finishing the region progress rewards grants you +4 paragon points for each region. This is insanely useful in optimizing builds, like our very own sorcerer build, if your level isn’t high enough yet.
This particular side quest, Secret of the Spring, is easy because all you have to do is perform an emote.
