An upgraded weapon is significantly better than its base version. This becomes abundantly clear the first time you upgrade a weapon in AC Mirage.

This is also the case for your tools and outfits.

That said, there’s a cost. You need a bunch of crafting materials if you want the best version of your favorite gear.

Don’t worry, though. We’ve got you covered. Here’s how to get crafting materials in Assassin’s Creed Mirage.

The Best Way to Get Crafting Materials

The items you will need for crafting are Steel Ingots, Leather Straps, and Components.

You will need those frequently. You can upgrade each weapon up to twice. The first upgrade might not cost you much, but the second one always does.

The more you use these items to upgrade weapons and tools, the more expensive the upgrades become.

Loot Chests

You always get a bunch of crafting materials from chests. Just activate Eagle Vision and look around. Chances are there will be a chest not too far from you.

Some are quite easy to find, others not so much.

Exposed chests might have a guard nearby, but you can walk up to the chest and loot it right in front of the guard. More often than not, you won’t even raise your Notoriety Level to 1.

Even if you do, you can always reduce it while it is manageable.

Of course, the guards will chase you right after you do it, so just run away and hide. Don’t let them see you again for a while unless you want to increase your Notoriety Level to increase.

If you feel like it, you can also approach it in a way that would make the brotherhood happy.

For instance, you can use your Scholar Favor Tokens to make a musician play a song and attract the guard’s attention.

Whatever you do, make sure that you don’t neglect chests, especially the easiest ones, so you can have enough crafting material to upgrade your favorite weapons and tools.

Buy Crafting Materials from Merchants

Besides looting chests, you can also buy Leather Straps and Steel Ingots from various merchants around Baghdad.

At first, Leather straps will cost 1 Dirham a piece while components cost 5.

You can even spend a Merchant Favor Token to lower the prices of a merchant’s goods.

This becomes extremely relevant over time since upgrading tools becomes increasingly more expensive.

Final Thoughts

You won’t be able to rely on chests forever. So, it might be a good idea to consider lowering a merchant’s price and buying materials from them.

Although chests might not always be easy to come by, pickpocketing is relatively easy, and you can always make it even easier with the right skills.

Upgrading your tools in Assassin’s Creed Mirage is crucial to enhancing Basim’s potential as an Assassin of the Brotherhood.

As you progress through the game’s main missions and unlock new tools, upgrading your new gear requires a significant investment in crafting materials.

Luckily, now that you know where to get crafting materials, having the best gear in the game won’t be as complicated as it could have been.
