Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold war is full of guns that can cater to every style of play imaginable.
Want to rush? Build an MP5 powerhouse, want to knife people? Build a melee knife loadout.
However, where do things stand with burst and semi-automatic rifles? Having already created the best AUG loadout, it is time to take a look at a slightly more powerful semi-automatic rifle (when it comes to default weapon stat comparison), the DMR 14.
In this guide, I will show you the best DMR 14 Loadout in Call of Duty Cold War.
You first unlock the weapon at level 49, which is fairly high compared to the other burst-fire competitors, however, since I have been using it for quite some time already, I can definitely see the potential of it as being one of the most overpowered guns in Cold War.
Best DMR 14 Attachments
- Millstop Reflex (Optic)
- Silencer (Muzzle)
- 21.5” Match Grade (Barrel)
- Infiltrator Grip (Underbarrel)
- Wire Stock (Stock)
This loadout is built with the goal to provide you with a weapon that is not only powerful but also mobile and insanely accurate with little recoil. This makes this DMR 14 loadout the perfect class for medium to long-range engagements. Besides, the fact that it is a semi-automatic rifle, rest assured that this weapon is much easier to control as compared to its automatic competitors.
Since there are plenty of alternatives that you could go for to make the DMR 14 a really overpowered weapon, I will go ahead and explain to you in a little more detail why I decided to go for the attachments that I presented to you above.
Optic
Starting off with the optic of the DMR 14, I have decided to go for the Millstop Reflex which is one of the very first optic attachments which you unlock at DMR 14 level 17. Truth is that the DMR 14 isn’t that good without an optic. Also, I am not a huge fan of large optics, and so, in my opinion, the Millstop Reflex not only makes your weapon accuracy significantly better but is also very lightweight and brings no disadvantages to your loadout.
Muzzle
As for the muzzle, I have gone for the Silencer which you unlock when your DMR 14 reaches level 20. The benefits of this attachment are that every time you fire out of your DMR 14, it is completely silent, meaning that you will not show up on the radar or be heard by enemies nearby.
Besides, there is a 100% increase in muzzle flash concealment. The only downside is that bullet velocity is decreased by 15%, however, you are hardly going to notice that at all.
Barrel
As per the barrel, my money goes on the 21.5” Match Grade that is available once you get your DMR 14 to level 39. With this attachment, you will increase the effective damage range of your weapon by 100%, making it that much more powerful in long-range exchanges on maps such as Satellite. The only downside is that your Sprint Moving Speed is reduced by a mere 5%, which you won’t even notice.
Underbarrel
For the underbarrel, I have opted in for the Infiltrator Grip. This attachment is unlocked at level 15 of your DMR 14. There are no negative effects on your weapon by using this attachment. In fact, you will see a 5% increase in movement speed, shooting move speed, and aim walking movement speed.
Stock
And finally, last on the list is the Wire Stock. This attachment can be unlocked at DMR 14 level 19. There are no downsides to using this attachment. On the positive side, it increases your sprint to fire time by 10%.
You are also probably wondering, what about a secondary weapon, perks, and throwables? I will leave that to you. My goal is to provide you with the best DMR 14 loadout and all other aspects of the class setup are completely up to you as we all have different preferences.
Potential Improvements
As I mentioned above, there are some alternatives that you could make use of to tweak the DMR 14 and adjust the weapon to your play style.
For example, if you are after some solid speed, feel free to replace the Wire Stock attachment with the KGB pad. The KGB pad adds 30% to your sprint to fire time and 40% to your aim walking movement speed. On the downside, you will see a 30% reduction in weapon accuracy.
If you want an increased fire rate, then change the 21.5” Match Grade barrel with the 16.4″ Titanium which is unlocked at weapon level 30. If you’d like to increase bullet damage while keeping the fire rate relatively high, go for the 18.3″ Strike Team barrel which you can access at DMR 14 level 21.
