There are various snipers included in every CoD game and each one always has its own pros and cons, with unique usefulness in certain situations, game modes or for specific styles of play.
You might be aware of the best camping spots in CoD Cold War, but some of them don’t work well unless your weapon’s Aim Down Sight speed is good enough.
We will show you which sniper you need to be using for your Cold War quickscoping loadout, and we’ll break down each of the best attachments to be using and the reason behind picking them over the others.
So, without further ado, let’s jump right into it.
What is Quickscoping?
Before we get into the loadouts, for the ones that aren’t aware, let’s take a look at exactly what quickscoping is. The term ‘quickscoping’ was coined even before the rise of Call of Duty’s popularity. It was not invented by anyone and it just plainly describes what it says which is to quick scope.
Any player using the fastest ADS sniper in Cold War, especially with a scope that aim down sight and shoot right away is called a quickscoper. The video above is a quick example of what it looks like and it has been around since Counter-Strike 1.6.
Best Sniper Quickscoping Loadouts
The best sniper in Cold War for doing quickscopes at release was the Pelington 703. However, after a few seasons of the game being released, a new great choice became available; the Swiss K31. The Swiss K31 became the fastest ADS sniper in Cold War.
The aim down sight or ‘ADS’ speed is just too high on the LW3 Tundra, another popular sniper. You would want as much aiming speed as possible for your quickscopes and the LW3 Tundra is more built for the long-range sniper rifle build that can one-shot enemies even at a greater distance.
While the Pelington 703 is less powerful than the Tundra, it can still one-shot enemies if you hit them straight at the torso or head. Hitting them near the hip or any of the other limbs will not kill them even if you add all the attachments that increase maximum bullet velocity which increases the overall damage of the sniper rifle.
There are two types of builds you can follow depending on your playstyle and I will explain all the attachment choices in more detail so you have more understanding about what the loadouts bring to the table and how you can tweak it to your playstyle.
We’re going to start by looking at the new best quickscoping loadout for the Swiss K31, and then we’ll move on to Pelington and Tundra options.
Swiss K31 Quickscoping Loadout
These are the best Swiss K31 attachments for quickscoping in Black Ops Cold War or Warzone:
- Muzzle: GRU Supressor
- Barrel: 24.9″ Tiger Team
- Body: Tiger Team Spotlight laser
- Stock: Raider stock
- Handle: Airborne Elastic Wrap
This loadout maximizes your ability to quickscope with extremely fast ADS times, you’re very mobile at all times, and you have the supressor to remain hidden on enemy radars whilst also boosting your bullet velocity at the same time.
Loadout with Lawbreaker Wildcard
This is the Pelington’s best loadout for a quickscoping sniper rifle build in CoD Cold War.
The Lawbreaker wildcard adds more flexibility to your playstyle where you can switch to another strong primary like the X4 (see the best close-range X4 build here). Preempting weapon switches that are more powerful when entering closed spaces is a great advantage to have.
Having the best weapon for close-range combat and the best possible mid-range weapon with the sniper rifle can make you unstoppable. Here are the attachments used for the Pelington 703.
- Red Dot Sight
- 26.5″ Tiger Team
- Infiltrator Grip
- Fast Loader
- Speed Tape
- Marathon Stock or Raider Pad
You can throw away the Fast Loader, Infiltrator Grip or Red Dot Sight depending on what you prefer. The rest of the attachments are mandatory. You can check below for the Gunfighter wildcard loadout for more attachments on the Pellington 703.
The optics are a personal preference and the Axial Arms 3X is my personal favorite and I would highly recommend it for its clean scope. The 3X magnification can be a bit much for enemies within 5 meters but if you are already used to doing quickscopes, the aim assist will do the rest and you will just have to rely on your perfect timing and shoot as soon as you feel the scope appearing.
26.5″ Tiger Team adds more damage which increases the effective range of your quickscopes. Not only that but also, it increases reload quickness and bullet velocity which are both crucial for the quickscope build.
The Infiltrator Grip adds overall mobility such as aiming move speed, base move speed and shooting move speed.
Personally, I prefer using the Infiltrator Grip since I only switch between two to three areas on a map. I like to jiggle peek and hold corners until I find out where the enemy will come from. With that kind of strategy, the Infiltrator Grip is more beneficial.
Fast Loader is crucial for smaller maps if you want to force out your sniper rifle frequently. The reload speed for the Pelington 703 has one of the slowest reload speed in the game. This attachment helps you get it up and ready along with the other attachments.
Speed Tape is one of the easiest attachments to unlock for this quickscope build and it reduces aim down sight time which is the number one priority for this build to work. While other attachments in this category give more ADS time, you suffer greatly from reduced sprint to fire time which happens quite frequently while playing so it will not be a great option.
Equipment to be used are stun grenades, frag grenades and the Field Mic. You can replace Field Mic with any personal preference as it does not matter as much. Since the Lawbreaker wildcard allows you to choose any perk for your 3 slots, you should run with Cold Blooded, Ghost and another perk you want.
Scavenger can be great if you think 20 bullets for the Pelington 703 is not enough. Flak Jacket can increase overall survivability from players who like to throw explosives every time they spawn. The last option would be the Tracker perk which allows you to see enemy footsteps that are near.
Loadout with Gunfighter Wildcard
This next loadout is built around the Gunfighter wildcard which removes your good close-range combat weapon. This is for players who want to practice quickscoping and those who refuse to use any weapon other than the sniper rifle because they are just so good at it. The added attachments have minimal advantages but those advantages can be good if you really want to play with pure quickscopes.
Here are the attachments used for the loadout and you can choose any secondary you want because you will most likely not be using them anyway.
- Red Dot Sight
- 26.5″ Tiger Team
- Infiltrator Grip
- Fast Loader
- Speed Tape
- Marathon Stock or Raider Pad
- Flash Hider .308
- Steady Aim Laser or Mounted Flashlight
You still pick all the attachments mentioned above with the Lawbreaker wildcard loadout. The attachments added here are Flash Hider .308 and Steady Aim Laser or Mounted Flashlight.
The Flash Hider .308 does not help your quickscopes but it can definitely help your aim when you try to fire a more accurate shot by aiming down sights longer. You cannot use any moderators or suppressors because of that damage reduction so the Flash Hider .308 is the only option here.
The Steady Aim Laser improves your hip-fire accuracy which allows you to use your Pelington 703 as a less potent shotgun. Mounted Flashlight gives more reveal distance on your aim and you would not want to have anything higher than the 20% added here since it can throw you off when your enemies are close. It highly depends on the map if it is small or large.
LW3 Tundra Quickscope Attachments
The LW3 Tundra is another option for a quickscope build but it will be slightly slower than the Pelington 703. It is easier to control and packs a bigger punch but damage does not usually matter when it comes to snipers as long as you are able to one-shot enemies right on the chest or the head.
While the LW3 Tundra is slightly slower, it fixes the slow reload speed that the Pelington 703 has. Here are the attachments you are looking for when it comes to the LW3 Tundra quickscope build.
- Optics: Any optics you prefer
- Muzzle: Flash Hider .308 (Attachment slot not required)
- Barrel: 28.2″ Tiger Team
- Body: Steady Aim Laser (Attachment slot not required)
- Underbarrel: SFOD Speedgrip
- Magazine: Fast Mag
- Handle: Airborne Elastic Wrap
- Stock: Raider Pad
While there are a lot of attachments mentioned, it is best not to go for the Gunfighter wildcard with this setup. The optics, muzzle, and body are disposable and they do not add anything to the quickscoping build for the LW3 Tundra. These attachments will give you as much ADS bonus as any other attachment builds out there and that is what is most important.
The power of the LW3 Tundra allows you to penetrate thinner walls and deal more damage against the enemy through bullet penetration. The best example for this would be Flag B of Checkmate in Domination. The thin walls allow you to shoot through it and deal damage in a straight line where enemies usually come from.
There will be a sniping spot near one of the entrances inside the plane and it just next to the side entrance with the ladder. It is definitely rare to find a sniping spot that allows you to do this strategy but the LW3 Tundra excels better on this than the Pelington 703.
Tips and Tricks to Remember
- If you run out of ammo because you are an absolute unit, you can pick up ammo from players who also use the Pelington 703. Dying and picking up your own extra bullets can also be done so you would not have to rely on the Scavenger perk.
- Keep practicing your quickscope timing. If you time it perfectly, you can even shoot an accurate quickscope shot even without seeing the scope or the optics.
- Always stay, walk or run near cover at all times because you can still recover from missing a shot.
- Refrain from moving around the map and focus instead on covering two specific areas where your sniper rifle is effective. Alternate between those two areas instead of running circles looking for enemies around the map. A good example of this is in the map Satellite. The best place to snipe will be near the sand dunes where you can take cover below the hill and have a clear vision of enemies.
The Best Sniper in Black Ops
Please note that the best Sniper Rifle for Quickscoping is not necessarily the best Sniper in Call of Duty: Cold War.
Every Call of Duty game has its own version of a quickscope loadout. The game is not complete without it.
That said, Quickscoping often makes the Sniper slightly less damaging or less accurate. You will trade other good aspects of these rifles for ADS speed.
The build provided in this post is mostly played at a fast pace and will keep your adrenaline flowing especially when you land shot after shot. It has the highest skill cap in the game and is one of the strongest if played perfectly.
Oh, and when it comes to the best sniper for quickscoping in CoD Cold War, it is the Pelington 703. No other sniper even comes close to this one.
