Fire-type Pokémon are often very stylish, but they are also known for considerable offensive power.

There are quite a few powerful Fire-type Pokémon in the current generation, including very effective S-Tier Pokémon.

Thanks to the Paradox type Pokémon, there are certain Pokémon variation that either gain the Fire type or gain another type while remaining a Fire Pokémon.

Check all the details below. This guide will show you the best Fire-type Pokémon in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet.

Armarouge

Amourage

Among the most powerful Pokémon in Scalet & Violet, Armarouge is on the weaker end. Armarouge ends up feeling like a glass cannon when playing with the big boys.

That said, this is a very effective cannon. Armarouge has a total base stats of 525, which makes it land in the B-Tier. If you don’t use its physical attacks, however, this shouldn’t be much of a problem.

This Pokémon’s greatest strength is its Special Attack, which can be as high as 125. That becomes even better when combined with the Modest nature, which adds +10% Special Attack to Armarouge.

Armarouge’s type combination is pretty interesting. It is a Fire and Psychic Pokémon. It is Weak to Rock, Ground, Water, ghost, and Dark attacks, taking twice as much damage from them.

On the other hand, it takes half damage from Steel, Fire, Grass, Ice, Fairy, Fighting, and Psychic attacks.

Sadly, Armourouge’s speed is not great either, so making this Pokémon work might be challenging when the enemy has powerful, fast Pokémon.

But we have many other good Fire-type Pokémon below for you to choose the one that fits your composition.

As long as you know where to catch every Pokémon in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet, you will be able to make any team you want.

Ceruledge

Ceruledge

We are not joining the big leagues yet. Ceruledge is another B-Tier Pokémon, but it is a very good one. Besides, it has a Digimon-like or Yugi-oh card-like design which should be enough reason for you to have one on your team. Its maximum total base stats is 525.

Weak Armor lowers your target’s Defense every time you hit them, turning any long fight against Ceruledge into a time bomb.

Although not great, it is decent since it can have 125 Attack as its highest IV stat. Ceruledge can have Flash Fire, Weak Armor, and Own Tempo as an Ability.

Ceruledge is a combined Fire- and Ghost-type Pokémon that is basically a flaming armor occupied by a ghost. How cool is that?

Ceruledge takes 200% damage from Rock-, Ground-, Water-, Ghost-, and Dark-type attacks. However, it has many resistances, making it a hard Pokémon to counter.

This Fire and Ghost-type Pokémon is completely immune to Fighting- and Normal-type attacks. It only takes 25% damage from Bug-type moves and half damage from Steel-, Fire-, Grass-, Ice-, Fairy-, and Poison-type moves.

Some of the best attacks Ceruledge can use are Overhead, one of the best TMs in the game, Flare Blitz, Fire Blast, Close Combat, and Flame Thrower.

Skeledirge

Skeledirge

Skeledirge is the final evolution of your initial Fire-type partner in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet. This Pokémon, unlike its previous forms, also receives the Ghost type, which significantly changes its matchups.

Although it isn’t the most powerful Pokémon in the game by far, Skeledirge gets the job done. This A-Tier Pokémon’s total base stats can go up to 530. It isn’t nearly enough to make it an S-Tier Pokémon, but it gets an A.

This Pokemon has a chance of possessing Sheer Force, Swarm, and Flame Body as an Ability. Skeledirge’s best IV stat is Special Attack, which can go up to 110. Not the highest, but decent.

With the Quiet Nature, you get a +10% Special Attack, making this Pokémon’s Fire Attacks even more powerful.

This combination of Fire and Ghost types makes Skeledirge quite resistant to enemy attacks.

It is weak to five different move types while being resistant to nine. Avoid its weaknesses and you will always have the upper hand.

Skeledinge takes twice as much damage from Ground, Rock, Water, Ghost, and Dark moves. On the othe hand, it takes 50% less damage from Steel, Fire, Grass, Ice, Fairy, and Poison moves.

It also takes only 25% damage from Bug-type moves and is immune to Normal and Fighting attacks.

Volcarona

Actual Volcarona

Volcarona might not be as powerful as its Paradox version, but it certainly is a powerful A-Tier Pokémon with the same 550 total base stats that Arcanine has.

This Pokemon has a chance of possessing Sheer Force, Swarm, and Flame Body as an Ability. Volcarona’s best IV stat is Special Attack, which can go up to 135 — much higher than Arcanine’s. With the Modest Nature, you get a +10% Special Attack, making this Pokémon’s Fire Attacks even more powerful.

This combination of Fire and Bug types makes Volcarona quite resistant to enemy attacks. It takes twice as much damage from Flying and Water attacks. It also takes four times as much damage from Rock-type attacks, so be careful about that.

On the other hand, this Pokémon takes only half damage from Fighting, Bug, Ice, Metal, Psychic, and Grass attacks.

Arcanine

Arcanine pokedex

In Pokémon Scarlet & Violet, Arcanine is much more than a beautiful, majestic lion-dog. It’s a powerful S-Tier Pokémon that can fight Legendary Pokémon due to its high and well-distributed IVs.

Arcanine is one of the best Fire-type Pokémon in the game due to a combination of its high stats — that can make up for a 555 Pokémon — and its abilities.

In fact, Arcanine is a Pokémon that can have Intimidate, Flash Fire, and Justified as an Ability. All those make Arcanine capable of surprisingly high damage output and withstanding many attacks.

Many players consider Arcanine an S-Tier Pokémon in Scarlet & Violet. Depending on your team composition, it can be better than some legendaries.

Iron Moth Volcarona

Volcarona

Iron Moth Volcarona is a paradox Pokémon, which means there’s a good chance we won’t see it returning in future Pokémon games.

However, this article is about Scarlet & Violet, so we are going to include it in this list cause this is a mighty Pokémon.

Iron Moth Volcarona’s Ability can be Quark Drive, Guard Dog, or Quark Drive.
Its 570 possible Total Base Stats, combined with Modest Nature, make for an impressive damage output when using special attacks.

Iron Moth’s highest stat is Special Attack, which is 140, and it has resistance to eight different damage types.

It takes just a quarter of the damage from Fairy-type attacks and half damage from steel, fire, ice, fighting, poison, and bug.

Unfortunately, it is weak to rock, water, and psychic attacks. Iron Moth Volcarona’s biggest weakness is Ground-type attacks. They deal four times as much damage to Iron Moth Volcana.

Chi-Yu

Chi Yu ability

Although this Pokémon is a fish, it is vulnerable to Water-type damage for some reason. You might want to check the Pokémon’s strengths and weaknesses to understand it better.

Chi-Yu is a Fire- and Dark-type Pokémon that can have Guard Dog, Beads of Ruin, and Beads of Ruin as an Ability.

Besides the potential of having good Abilities, Chi-Yu can have a Total Base Stats of 580, which is even better than Arcanine’s.

Chi-Yu’s highest stat is Special Attack (145), which gets even better with the Modest Nature (+10% Special Attack). Thanks to the Fire-Dark combination, Chi-Yu takes half damage from ghost, dark, steel, grass, and ice attacks.

It is also immune to psychic-type attacks. Unfortunately, although it resists many attack types, it also takes double damage from Fighting-, Rock-, Water-, and Ground-type attacks.

Charizard

Charizard Tera

We already mentioned that Charizard is one of the best Flying-type Pokémon, and it might be the best.

You will eventually come across this Pokémon when doing raids. Fighting Charizard is a great way to make money fast in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet.

With that in mind, and considering the fact Charizard is also a Fire-type Pokémon, we cannot keep it out of this list.

Charizard is certainly an S-tier Pokémon that can deal massive amounts of fire damage, especially if you decide to go with a Fire Tera Type.

You should check how Terastalizing works to make sure you can use it to your advantage when competing against other players.

What to Do Next
