Bunkers & Badasses is a game that puts you against lots of enemies. So many that, if your aim is as bad as mine, you will run out of bullets frequently.
There are certain weapons that are clearly not meant to waste bullets, like the sniper rifles that shoot two or three bullets every time you pull the trigger. Those are my favorite kind of guns in this game, but they are also the reason why I’m always running away and looking for ammo.
Although you can open some chests throughout the game to get some of your ammo back, there are times when it is not nearly enough.
Please note that running out of bullets can be a symptom of something else. For instance, you might need a weapon that deals more damage, or maybe you have a problem with your build.

How to Increase Your Ammo Capacity
This is not really that hard to solve. Much like many other mechanical aspects of Tiny Tina’s Wonderland, you will be directed to where you solve this issue. However, you might miss it if you don’t pay attention.
Increasing the number of bullets you carry with you is a matter of buying an upgrade from the blacksmith.
In order to do that, you need to first save Brighthoof by bringing a magic sword back to the city. You can accomplish that by just following the main quest.
In order to be able to carry more ammo, you will have to talk to the blacksmith in Brighthoof. She will let you know that she fills the weapon machines and won’t be selling you any weapons.
This isn’t a big deal, though. The most important piece of information that the blacksmith provides to you is that she can increase your backpack size and ammo capacity.
Although she is technically the one providing the service, if you insist on talking to her, she won’t offer this service. This is when many players often give up or leave it for later, which is exactly what I did.
However, check the area near the blacksmith. You will find some sort of machine with which you can interact to increase your ammo capacity.
The way it works is pretty simple, choose a weapon type and pay the gold cost to be able to carry more ammo for that kind of gun.
For instance, if you upgrade your SMG ammo capacity, you can carry more SMG ammunition but not more Sniper Rifle ammunition.
How to Increase Your Backpack Capacity
Let’s say you went through a brutal skirmish, and there are tones of uncommon and rare weapons on the ground that you can’t carry.
Over time, that is a lot of gold lost. That money could be used to buy better weapons and upgrade your ammo and backpack capacity.
This isn’t much of an issue since you can count on the same blacksmith to make you able to carry more items than you currently can. By going to the same place where you raise your ammo capacity, you can also pay to boost your Storage Deck Upgrade.
Each upgrade permanently increases the number of items you can carry by 3. It is a bit expensive, but it does make a difference once you have purchased enough of these.
Final Thoughts
Follow the main quest until you are able to pay the blacksmith a visit. Once you’ve gone through that and talked to her, check a weird chest-like metal box that she has.
There, you will have the option to select what you want to upgrade. You can choose a weapon type, your Bank, Lost Loot, or your Backpack capacity.
Every time you pay to upgrade one of those, the cost increases for the next upgrade. The more you want to carry, the more it will cost you.
It is a good idea to choose up to two weapon kinds you like and stick with them at first. Mainly because it will take you a while to be able to use more than two guns at once. Upgrade the weapon capacity of those two kinds of firearms and your backpack capacity to carry more items and have more stuff to sell.
