The Bombirdier, Open Sky Titan, is one of the Path of Legends you need to finish for completion. It is part of the story progression.

However, if you are having a hard time in this battle, you might have gone down the wrong path in the storyline.

Don’t worry. If you are already at this point, you might as well finish it even if you are on the wrong path because it is definitely doable, depending on the situation.

We will show you how to beat the Open Sky Titan in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet, including what you would receive upon completion.

Where is the Bombirdier, Open Sky Titan?

If you head west from the academy, you will encounter the first gym area. Once you beat the first gym, you have the option to continue heading west, move to the east of the academy, or move to the south of the academy.

If you continue heading west, you should see a point of interest near the first gym that may seem like the following point you should be heading to.

You will be coming up a mountain and see that rocks are rolling down the hill. Go up the hill mounted and avoid the rocks.

If you get hit by the rocks, you will get stunned for a bit, but it wouldn’t bring you all the way to the bottom again. You can continue going up.

Once you reach the peak, you will enter a cutscene for the Bombirdier, Open Sky Titan fight.

Preparing for the Battle

Bombirdier is a Flying/Dark Pokemon. This makes it a bit hard for whichever starter Pokemon you have, but if you have Sprigatito (Grass-type), it will be even harder. Quaxly and Fuecoco are neutral against Bombirdier, but Sprigatito is weak to it.

To prepare for Bombirdier, the Open Sky Titan, you need to be at least at level 19-22 with a few Pokemons on your lineup.

If you have Sprigatito, you should be aiming for around levels 21-25. However, at this point in the story, you should have a few Pokemons already.

There are a lot of bug-type Pokemons near the starting area, and you can use them to fight Bombirdier because bug-type Pokemons are strong against dark-type Pokemons.

However, if you didn’t catch or level any of them up, it might be hard to grind their levels up because they will be low-level when you catch them.

Make sure to bring some Super Potions and a couple of Revives, especially if you have Sprigatito and you aren’t that overleveled.

How to Beat Bombirdier

Bombirdier, the Open Sky Titan’s move set

  • Wing Attack
  • Pluck
  • Rock Throw
  • Torment

Even if Bombirdier is a flying/dark type Pokemon, its Torment move is a non-damage dark move anyway.

You just have to worry about the Rock Throw and its two flying attacks.

If you have a decent bug-type Pokemon, the fight should be a piece of cake.

For Fuecoco and Quaxly starters, you can easily survive two to three attacks and change Pokemon when it gets dangerous.

Use healing items on your starter while using other Pokemons as bait to recover.

Repeat the process until you beat the Bombirdier.

After beating Bombirdier, it will go back and break the rock to eat and recover. You will be battling him again without any time to recover, but this time, Arven will be there to assist you.

Arven can essentially solo the fight because he always uses a strong Pokemon type against these titans.

What Do You Get From Beating Bombirdier?

After beating Bombirdier, the Open Sky Titan, you will receive a message on your Rotom phone that will tell you that you can now swim through the water with your mount.

Essentially, it unlocks surfing on the water so you can get across rivers. There are also Pokemons that can only be found on the water, so it is essential in completing your Pokedex.
