Pokemon Scarlet & Violet introduced Kingambit to Pokemon fans, and it’s been a favorite of many ever since. You might be wondering where you can get this awesome Pokemon after battling a particular trainer (this article will be spoiler-free), but it can be a bit hard.

You can technically get Kingambit without even beating the 1st gym due to the non-linear nature of Pokemon Violet & Scarlet, but this isn’t exactly recommended as it would be quite a difficult process.

There is more than one way to get a Kingambit. In this article, we will show you how to get Kingambit in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet in the easiest way possible.

What is Kingambit?

Kingambit is the final evolution in the Pawniard evolutionary chain. Pawniard evolves into Bisharp, which evolves into Kingambit.

It is a Dark and Steel type Pokemon with high HP, Attack, and Defense. It has weak Special Attack and Special Defense stats. It is very slow, but it is extremely beefy.

Since it is a Dark and Steel Pokemon, it is strong against one of the most popular types in Pokemon which is the Fairy type. Most Fairy type Pokemon have a low physical Defense, and Kingambit will be able to make quick work of them.

How to Get Kingambit

Bisharp Evolving

You will need a Pawniard or a Bisharp to get Kingambit.

If you have a Pawniard, it is as easy as leveling it up until it evolves into Bisharp. If you already have a Bisharp, the next step is a little trickier.

If you don’t have either Pokemon, there’s a few places you can catch them.

The perfect place to get a Bisharp is North Province Area Two. This is a big area, so head to the bamboo forest in particular.

The area is full of Pokemon, such as Scythers and Bisharp. Bisharps are very prevalent in the area. Other places spawn Pawniards and Bisharps as well, but this is the spot where you’ll have the best chance of getting one.

How to Evolve Bisharp to Kingambit

Bisharp Location

Once you have a Bisharp, here is the way to evolve it into a Kingambit.

In the same area above (North Province Area Two – Bamboo Forest), you will need to look for more Bisharps.

Keep an eye out for the Bishops who spawn in a pack. You may have noticed that some Pokemon spawn in the game surrounded by their pre-evolution forms, and this is the case for Bisharp, too.

Bisharp Pack

You need to look for a Bisharp pack surrounded by Pawniards in the bamboo forest.

Once you find one, you need to battle it. Do not use the quick battle feature. Once in a battle, you need Bisharp to finish the other Bisharp off.

This can be quite tricky as your attacks won’t be very strong, but you can change to another Pokemon and switch back to your Bisharp to finish it off. The only requirement is finishing off the wild Bisharp with your own Bisharp.

You need to finish off the Bisharp from a pack a total of three times to evolve Bisharp to Kingambit.

After beating all three Bisharps, you just need to level up your Bisharp, and it will start to evolve into a Kingambit.

Now, the hardest challenge is finding these Bisharp packs. If you are following this guide and you haven’t found a single one in an hour, bear with it. It will happen, it’s just quite rare to find packs and does depend somewhat on your luck.

For me, it took around 5 hours to find all three.

Here are some strategies you can use to make it a bit easier.

When looking for a Bisharp pack, quick battle the other wild Pokemon to clear the area. It will be easier if you have a high-level Pokemon, but you will still need to heal every once in a while.

The good news is that there is a Pokemon Center near the area. Rinse and repeat, and you will eventually see a Bisharp pack. This can take a long time, but at least with this strategy, you can level up fast too.

With quick battles, you can also get a chance at running into a shiny Pokemon. Your Pokemon will refuse to quick battle a shiny Pokemon, so you’ll be able to spot them easily.

Another strategy you can do is to use a picnic to restart the spawns in the area. You won’t get any free levels compared to quick battling the Pokemon around. However, it is quite efficient and can help to speed up the process.

Since the process takes so long, you can try to breed a Pawniard with good statistics to make your Kingambit even more powerful. Get a Ditto and grab a Pawniard or a Bisharp. Keep breeding until you get a good Pawniard with high IVs, and then level it up.

Use the Bisharp and evolve it into a Kingambit.

What to Do After Getting Kingambit

Kingambit is a powerful Pokemon, but there’s a few things you can do to make it even more effective in your team. One of the main things that’s worth spending time on is reading up on the Pokemon’s type strengths and weaknesses.

For example, Kingambit is a Dark and Steel Pokemon. Steel types are weak to Fighting, Ground, and Fire Pokemon, so it’s worth looking at the best Pokemon that fit those types in order to prepare counters for them.
