If you are on the fence about choosing your favorite team or another, this is the perfect guide for you. There are so many teams to choose from in NBA 2K24.
Each one will carve a different path for your player, affecting your team’s performance because of which position your player is playing.
You might be stepping on the toes of your team’s best player, and there might be a tug-of-war between your minutes and theirs.
We’ll list down each position and find some great teams for you to choose from so your player can be the star of the team.
Best Teams for Point Guards
The NBA is currently filled with amazing point guards. You have Stephen Curry, Damian Lillard, LaMelo Ball, De’Aaron Fox, and many more.
Our goal is to get you to a team where you will take the point guard position without putting any of these stars down. The best situation is to be on a team where you are the point guard with a bunch of superstars playing with you.
This gives you the best chance of winning games.
New Orleans Pelicans
New Orleans is one of the best fits for a young and rising point guard. You have a lot of talent around you who are borderline superstars like Brandon Ingram, Zion Williamson, and CJ McCollum.
You’ll be sharing some minutes with CJ, but he also plays the shooting guard role. Both of you will alternate the positions at some point, but it wouldn’t matter too much since both of you will end up being the starters anyway.
Los Angeles Lakers
The Los Angeles Lakers are very top-heavy. They have LeBron James and Anthony Davis with all the other roles for the taking.
You do have a rising star in Austin Reaves, but you’ll surely get the starting role as AR15 usually plays off the bench.
It’ll be incredibly easy to reach the playoffs with LeBron James and Anthony Davis on your team, with the exception that they don’t get injured.
Denver Nuggets
There is no question that the Denver Nuggets would be a good spot. They are the defending champions, and their weakest link is their point guard.
In the NBA, they don’t really need the point guard as Nikola Jokic facilities the offense at the center position.
Everyone can bring the ball, and that’s what makes them great. Your team will be stacked with talent, and this would be a prime spot for a new point guard.
Miami Heat
The Miami Heat are also champions but in the Eastern conference. They have a young core led by Jimmy Butler, who showed how good he is in the 2022-2023 playoffs.
They are missing a great point guard because Tyler Herro isn’t really a point guard, and Kyle Lowry is already on the decline.
With your player filling that role, the team could reach new heights as a team that is 7-8 players deep with stars like Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo.
Boston Celtics
The Boston Celtics have been a great team since Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown flourished into superstars.
With an additional point guard to bolster the offense even more, this might be the best team for you.
Your team will be stacked for years because of their talented young players.
As long as the GM continues to fill up the roster with supporting talent, you’ll be competing for a championship every year.
Best Teams for Shooting Guards
Atlanta Hawks
The Atlanta Hawks is a good destination for a shooting guard. Trae Young can handle the ball and facilitate the offense.
The spacing is really good because the Hawks have a stretch big in John Collins. Adding a good shooting guard who can slash, finish, and shoot the ball well will bolster the team tremendously.
Trae Young’s lack of size and defense will surely need a guard who can defend very well, too.
Memphis Grizzlies
The Memphis Grizzlies have Ja Morant and a lot of great players. Jaren Jackson Jr. is a beast defensively. Desmond Bane is a good all-around player who is also a lethal sniper.
With Dillion Brooks gone, the minutes for the shooting guard and small forward will be open for a new addition.
Best Teams for Small Forwards
Dallas Mavericks
The Dallas Mavericks have one of the best backcourt in the league. They have Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving, who are arguably the two best offensive players in the NBA.
The problem with the Dallas Mavericks is their lack of depth and role players. Adding a good small forward who can defend and rebound will improve the team greatly.
Any great forward or center will put the Dallas Mavericks on the top again, but that is a big task to fill up the roster since they hold a lot of bad contracts.
Sacramento Kings
The Sacramento Kings just made the playoffs for the first time in decades. They have one of the best cores in the league because of how young and talented their team is.
Adding another forward would definitely bolster their future. Expect some hardships as your team develops, and you’ll be rewarded in the future with talents like Donatas Sabonis and De’Aaron Fox on your team.
Cleveland Cavaliers
The Cleveland Cavaliers are a bit underrated. Their team is quite stacked with Donovan Mitchell, Darius Garland, and a developing Evan Mobley.
Add a great small forward to their team, and you would have a very talented roster who can compete for years on end.
Philadelphia 76ers
The Philadelphia 76ers are a rare powerhouse team. They haven’t seen much success, but on paper, they should at least have gone to the finals.
However, in NBA 2K24, you can change all that since the overall rating of the team already looks good.
You have Joel Embiid, who is the reigning MVP. You have a young Tyrese Maxey who is a great two or three option on the offense.
James Harden’s future is a bit looming, but the team will definitely find a good replacement for him to bolster the team more.
Add yourself to the team and you’ll set back Tobias Harris on the bench for a better starting five.
Best Teams for Power Forwards
Milwaukee Bucks
The Milwaukee Bucks have one of the best teams in the league. Their defense is second to none.
The problem is their consistency with their offense. You have Giannis, who can basically play any position. They have a great all-time defender in Jrue Holiday.
Khris Middleton can provide some much-needed offense, and Brook Lopez can stretch the floor and defend the paint.
Anything you bring to the power forward position will greatly benefit the team.
Phoenix Suns
The Phoenix Suns are one of the most stacked teams in terms of talent. They have a young superstar in Devin Booker, and they just added Kevin Durant last season.
This year, we’ll also see Bradley Beal in the mix. We all know Bradley Beal is a great player and a superstar (he led the entire NBA in PPG for the Wizards).
Add Deandre Ayton, and you have an unbelievable superteam. How can we make this more unfair for the rest of the league? Let’s add you to the mix!
Best Teams for Centers
Golden State Warriors
The Golden State Warriors have had a problem with their size for the past few years. However, their success hasn’t really suffered because they have the best shooters in NBA history on their team.
However, if you add a versatile big who can defend the paint, they might possibly be the best team in the league immediately.
Los Angeles Clippers
If the Golden State Warriors have the best shooters in the league, the Los Angeles Clippers have the best two-way forwards in the league.
Paul George and Kawhi Leonard have the ability to lock down any player while being unstoppable on offense (maybe more on Kawhi for this).
Their main problem is their lack of size and their health. You cannot do anything about their health and we are playing on NBA 2K24 anyway.
With a great center, that could quickly turn things around for the team, positively, of course.
