There’s a number of interesting fetch quests in Pokemon Legends: Arceus that require you to seek out various Pokemon for experience, handy items and upgrades to Jubilife Village.

If you’re interested in changing your clothes and hairstyle in Pokemon Legends, chances are that you’ve stumbled upon Request 59 (Misdreavus the Hairstyle Muse) in your playthrough.

This is a request from Arezu, the hairdresser in Jubilife Village. The quest requires you to catch a Misdreavus and bring it to her, which can be a little tricky if you don’t know where to look.

Whether you’re looking to complete the quest or just pad out your Pokedex with a fantastic ghost Pokemon, I’ve put together this quick guide to help you catch Misdreavus in Pokemon Legends: Arceus.

Catching ghost type Pokemon in this game can be a bit difficult as they have a tendency to flit about and teleport, making them a pain to throw Pokeballs at. Misdreavus is no different, and you’ll need to be stealthy if you want to catch one without scaring it off. They’re timid Pokemon, and I’ve found that they tend to flee when you approach them.

To catch a Misdreavus in Pokemon Legends: Arceus, you’ll need to head to Coronet Highlands (specifically, head to Stonetooth Rows, Sacred Plaza and Celestica Ruins) or Alabaster Icelands, in the Bonechill Wastes zone.

I personally had the most luck in Coronet Highlands, and would recommend starting in the Sacred Plaza zone to save yourself time travelling between places. I’ve marked the location on the screenshot of the map below to help save you some time.

From my experience, this Pokemon will only spawn if it’s night time, so make sure you’ve sorted this before heading out to catch a Misdreavus for your team.

If you’re unsure on how to do this, head back to your nearest camp and locate the tent. Select it and pick the rest option from the drop down menu, then pick the night time option. This will change the time of day, and rest up your team so they’re ready for battle, too.

If you ever need to do this in Jubilife Village, you can also change the time of day by heading back to your quarters and selecting the rest option at your bed.

Misdreavus can be a little hard to spot in the dark, so it might take a while to come across a Pokemon if you’re flying with Braviary. I’d recommend going on foot, sneaking to make sure that you don’t accidentally spook the Pokemon and lose the rare spawn.

If you do end up battling Misdreavus, it’s important to make sure that you have a good type match up to ensure that you win quickly and avoid it running away. Ironically, ghost Pokemon are weak against ghost Pokemon so stock your team up with spooky pals to win this match. You could use a Duskull or a Haunter for example, or even a Gengar if you’ve evolved one.

Dark moves are also effective against ghost type Pokemon, so having one of the aforementioned Pokemon with ghost type moves and dark type moves is a good way to win.

Something else to note when hunting down a Misdreavus is that there’s a particular Alpha Pokemon to watch out for in Coronet Highlands. Mismagius is the evolved form of Misdreavus, and this Alpha packs an absolute punch. If you’re prepared (and you’re at a high enough level to make it obey you) it can make a great addition to your team.

If you’re looking to catch a Misdreavus for the hairstyle quest line, simply head back to Jubilife Village after you’ve caught one and head into the main area of the village.

As shown above, the hairdresser is called Arezu and can be found directly outside her shop with the scissor signs hanging on the wall. It’s straight on from the main gate of Jubilife Village, and I’ve marked it on the screenshot below to help you find her quickly.

Once you’ve found her, select the ‘about your request’ option from the drop down menu and hand in the Misdreavus from the Pastures screen. You’ll then get a little bit of dialogue with Arezu and unlock more hairstyles and colors in the salon.

Upon submitting this request, you’ll unlock another quest line that unlocks even more hairstyles and colors in the salon. This requires you to catch a Kirlia, in a similar fashion to the Misdreavus quest.
