The Ukouh Shrine is the first Shrine in Tears of the Kingdom, and it teaches you some basic mechanics.

Yet, if you weren’t paying attention, or have no patience to read tutorials, you might feel stuck.

Don’t worry, this is how you solve all puzzles and beat the Ukouh Shrine in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

Use Ultrahand to Beat the First Shrine

In order to go through this temple, you will have to relocate plates and attach items to them.

Ultra Hand is Link’s new ability that will allow him to use most of the cool mechanics in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

If you don’t know how to get to the Ukoah Shrine, you can check it at the end of this guide.

The First Challenge

This one the simplest. You just need to take that wooden plate and use it as a bridge to get to the other side.

In order to do that, you can activate your Ultra Hand ability by pressing the L button, use it to bridge the gap, and press X to let it go.

The Second Challenge

This one is similar but you will need two plates. Not only that, you must put them next to each other and attach them to one another by pressing A when they are in contact.

Once that’s done, use them to bridge the gap just like you’ve done before.

The Final Challenge

Now you must get a giant hook and attach it to a wood plate. Once you’re done with it, you will see a line that you can hang the hook on.

After doing it, jump on the wooden platform immediately. Now, just wait for it to slide and take you to the other side.

You might want to adjust the jump button to make it more comfortably.

The End of the First Shrine

After you’re done with that part, you just have to interact with a holographic looking disc and be done with the first shrine of the game.

How to Find the Ukoah Shrine

The Ukouh Shrine is located directly west of the Temple of Time on the Great Sky Island and can be easily seen from outside the temple.

While the following route provides instructions for reaching the shrine, alternative paths are available for explorers.

Begin by descending the western steps near the Temple of Time’s door. Along the way to the hill, where the shrine is situated, you may encounter Zonai Soldier Constructs that can be defeated.

After reaching the hill’s base, swim across a small pond and ascend the stairs, occasionally needing to climb to bridge gaps. Eventually, you’ll reach the summit and the Ukouh Shrine.

The Next Shrine

You need to get through three shrines to open the door of the Temple of Time and get on with the game.

Once you’re done with the first shrine of the game, AKA Ukoah Shrine, it’s time for you to go to the second Shrine in TOTK, the In-isa Shrine of the Great Sky Island.

Soon, the game will open up to the free-roaming experience that fans expect from a Breath of the Wild sequel. Go ahead and finish this sky island to see what TOTK really is about!
