Having a great player build for your position is quite often not enough if you don’t know how to shoot in NBA 2K21. We have seen quite a few examples out there on the internet that suggest to have found the magical formula for having the best jumpshot in NBA 2K21. However, after testing some of those, they really are nothing special.
What we will be taking a look at in today’s article is a jumpshot that to say the least, is quite overpowered. In fact, we wouldn’t be surprised if the developers go out of their way to patch it at some point because it is truly unfair.
Best Shooting Badges in NBA 2K21
Before we get into the best jump shot, we thought that we should first tell you about the best shooting badges in NBA 2K21. Without those, our tips and tricks will be pretty much useless as if you have already played the game, you would know how vital badges are to your players performance. There really are three badges that you really need to consider. Besides, there are some other which we will mention that aren’t so relevant in 2K21 as compared to 2K20.
HOF Green Machine: Using this badge will increase the bonus that you will get for consecutively executing excellent releases when shooting. An overall great badge that will increase your shooting success when you shoot well.
HOF Hot Zone Hunter: It would be bold to say, however, we believe that the ‘Hot Zone Hunter’ badge is easily one of the most crucial badges to have on your build. What it does is after you unlock your players’ hot zones, this badge will boost the shot percentage for shooting attempts that are taken from the player’s favourite spots on the court.
HOF Range Extender: This badge quite literally goes hand in hand with the ‘Hot Zone Hunter’ as it adds a significant boost to the range that your player can shoot from. This means that you will not only have a higher chance of success of scoring baskets from your players’ favorite spot but you will also be able to take three-pointers from further out.
Now, let’s get onto some of the badges that aren’t as important for your shooting as you may think in NBA 2K21. Those include, Slipper Off-Ball, Pump Fake Maestro, Flexible Release, Pick & Popper, Ice in Veins, and Steady Shooter. Anything else, you could consider to replace from the above three depending on your style of play.
Best Custom Release in NBA 2K21
Now, there are many custom releases that you can opt in for, however, many are borderline average, and we don’t aim for that. The custom release we are going for is truly over powered and will help you literally score every single one of your shooting attempts.
The base that you go for doesn’t really matter, so pick the one that you are most comfortable with, however, when it comes to the Upper Release 1, you should take Ray Allen’s release. For release number 2, you wanna go for Magic Johnson. As per the blending, make sure that you read carefully as it is critical that you understand what we are about to write.
Do not maximize your release speed. This will reduce the window required for you to hit a Green Shot, which will make it that much more difficult for you to be successful. What you want to do is go one tick down. It will make your shooting much more accurate. This applies for every jump shot.
In terms of blend, you want to go for a 60/40 split. So, that is 60% for Ray Allen and 40% for Magic Johnson. Now, if you want to play around and see if something suits you better, please feel free, but the above, is the best you can go for in our opinion.
Pro Tip: If you want to make the most out of your shots in terms of ‘greening’ and ‘whiting’ them, then go to your controller settings, and turn the shot meter off. You may. be asking yourself, why should I do that? Isn’t the shot meter there to help me make my shots more accurate? Well, not entirely. It has been circulating in the community that if your shot meter is set to off in your settings, you will receive a boost that will make your shots a little better. Don’t trust us? Go ahead and try it out yourself.
