The Bren looks odd and feels quite heavy in Vanguard and Warzone, but its bullets pack a lot of power.

The Bren can remove enemies very quickly, and with the right attachments you can tune the Bren to have almost zero recoil.

There’s also a semi-automatic mode of the Bren that still allows it to fire really fast while making the weapon significantly steadier than automatic.

You definitely need the right build to make the Bren work well, and we’ll break down the best Bren loadout in Call of Duty: Vanguard below.

The Best Bren Attachments

The attachments that we’re going for are intended to make the Bren a bit more reliable when you want to immediately point it and shoot while making it possible to hold its trigger for a bit when you need.

This way, you have a bit of versatility with it, making the weapon reliable in different ranges as long as you remember to constantly change its modes based on the situation you’re in.

When trying out this loadout, my aim was surprisingly steady when in semi-automatic mode. Also, the rate of fire is still pretty good if you keep pulling that trigger.

Small bursts will work well, too, with this loadout, making them not as reliable as the individual shots from the semi-automatic mode but far steadier than just unloading your magazine on the target.

  • Muzzle – Scythe Compensator
  • Barrel – Queen’s 705MM Royal
  • Optic – Nydar Model 47
  • Stock – Oak & Shield 12B
  • Underbarrel – Carver Foregrip
  • Magazine – .303 British 100 Round Drums
  • Rear Grip – Fabric Grip
  • Proficiency – Brace
  • Kit – Fully Loaded
  • Secondary Weapon – RATT

Muzzle – Scythe Compensator

As the game describes, this is a standard compensator that was created in order to reduce the muzzle climb. In other words, it helps to control the recoil.

This is an attachment that has no downside and, therefore, is a no-brainer. Considering our goal with this loadout, this is precisely what we need.

It might take a while for you to unlock this compensator, though, so until then, any Muzzle that reduces the recoil or adds accuracy should be okay as a placeholder until you have access to the Scythe Compensator.

Barrel – Queen’s 705MM Royal

Barrel Queens 705MM Royal

Unfortunately, this will reduce the Aim Down Sight Speed a bit, and it is not really something we want, but we do get a lot more accuracy and recoil control com this Barrel.

On top of all that, it increases your Bullet Velocity, which makes a machine gun way deadlier than it already is.

We’re going to go for attachments that mitigate these penalties, but the Queen’s 705MM Royal is the best muzzle for what we’re building here.

Optic – Nydar Model 47

The best thing about the Nydar Model 47 is that it is the first Optic Attachment made available for the Bren Light Machine Gun, and it is all that we need.

When it comes to Optics, anything that has no downside and makes you comfortable with the gun is all that is needed.

The Nydar gets the job done, doesn’t reduce your Aim Down Sight Speed, and adds Precision Sight Picture, so you can’t really go wrong with this one.

Stock – Oak & Shield 12B

In order to compensate for the penalties that come with the Queen’s 705MM Royal and for the Underbarrel that we’re about to mention, we are going to go with the Oak & Shield 12B.

It adds Aim Down Sight Speed, but it also adds a lot of Horizontal Recoil Control, which is one of the things we need to make this Light Machine Gun a reliable gun at any distance.

You might lose a little Hip Fire Accuracy with this, but we’re going to compensate for it with our next attachment in this list.

Underbarrel – Carver Foregrip

With the carver foregrip, we’re going to lose a bit of Aim Down Sight Speed again, but we’re going to get back some Hip Fire Accuracy and way more Recoil Control.

As mentioned before, the Bren can become quite unreliable when it comes to sustained fire, and we’re trying to mitigate that as much as we can so we can make use of the weapon’s fantastic firepower.

With the Carver Foregrip, we are one step closer to make this happen. However, if you don’t really care about your Hip Fire Accuracy, you can always go with the M1941 Handstop Underbarrel.

It adds both Recoil Control and Accuracy to the light machine gun for the cost of making your Hip Fire Accuracy a bit worse.

This might be a good price to pay, though, if going for the Hip Fire is not something you often do.

Magazine – .303 British 100 Round Drums

These are extra extended magazines that were made to considerably increase the number of bullets you can fire before reloading the gun.

There is a catch, though. Having that many bullets per magazine also makes the machine gun way heavier than what it already is, so it reduces your movement speed a bit and your Reload Quickness.

Fortunately, we were never going for agility with a machine gun, so the downside — although very real — won’t bother us as much as something that would affect our aim.

Also, you do want to be able to fire a machine gun for longer before having to reload it, so this will work out perfectly.

Rear Grip – Fabric Grip

This is the attachment that we choose to compensate for the downside of other attachments. For the cost of a bit of Accuracy, something this build will not be lacking, we’re going with the Fabric Grip.

This will be the best choice for our Rear Grip for the extra Aim Down Sight Speed, Sprint to Fire Speed, and Hip Fire Recoil Recovery.

Sprinting is one of the things that makes starting to shoot much slower in Call of Duty: Vanguard, and therefore this will help a bit.

Combined with the Aim Down Sight Speed, this attachment will make a gunfight less problematic when someone shoots you while you’re sprinting.

Proficiency – Brace

When it comes to proficiency, there are two that can work quite well with this build, but the one we are going to mention first — and possibly the most important one here — is the Brace Proficiency.

With Brace, players have more accuracy when they start firing. This is what makes the Bren exceptionally reliable when used with its semi-automatic mode or when firing short bursts.

Sustained fire will often get out of hand quickly with the Bren, no matter how much you focus on controlling that. However, if you do not hold down the trigger for long, you will see how easier it gets to hit enemy soldiers with this gun.

Alternatively, you can also go for a different Proficiency that can work well with this loadout, the Tight Grip.

This is the proficiency that mitigates this weapon’s most noticeable issue, its recoil during sustained fire. It also adds a bit of accuracy to the gun, which is always nice.

With this attachment, you might get away with holding the trigger in automatic mode for a little longer, and it can actually be quite helpful for players who do not trust the semi-automatic mode much to get the job done.

Kit – Fully Loaded

When using Machine Guns, whether they’re SMGs or LMGs, I personally like using the Fully Loaded Kit.

More magazines when you’re starting are an excellent excuse for me to fire more. Suppression fire is a significant element of Call of Duty: Vanguard, and the Bren can be pretty valuable for that sort of pressure on the enemy.

However, this is not the most essential choice of the loadout, and there are others that can work out just as well, such as Fast Melee, Reach, or even Heavy Hitter.

It will depend on your playstyle, though, so if you do not go with Fully loaded, make sure you’re going with something you constantly use, as it should be something that will continuously help you during matches.

Secondary Weapon – RATT

The RATT might not be considered the best secondary weapon in Call of Duty: Vanguard when you talk about it generally, but it is pretty good.

In the case of this loadout, it is perfect for making you run much faster, especially considering that this weapon is quite fast when you’re switching weapons.

So the idea is for you to carry a RATT as a secondary and use it for movement and repositioning.

Final Thoughts

The Bren Light Machine Gun is undoubtedly an exotic weapon that can take people off guard when switching modes, depending on the context.

This loadout makes its suppression fire quite intimidating and its individual shots very precise, which turns the Bren into a functional, deadly Light Machine Gun.

The most fun about the Bren is how active you have to be when it comes to when switching modes, holding the trigger, and just pulling it individually. Knowing all that is key to make the most out of the Bren.
