There are many different play styles in Call of Duty: Vanguard. While some people prefer to snipe and others enjoy running around with knives, one of my absolute favorites is rushing around the map and gunning down every single one of my enemies that dares to stand in my way.

The best run and gun loadout needs to have a very high rate of speed, swiftness, durability, accuracy, and most importantly, be absolutely lethal under a range of different circumstances.

Over the years, I’ve built many different run and gun load-outs, and in this year’s Call of Duty – Vanguard, I believe to have found the perfect combination of weapons, attachments, and perks that will allow you to literally shred through your opponents.

For the primary weapon, I’ve decided to go for the M1928 SMG, whereas for the secondary weapon, my gun of choice is the Machine Pistol. Together, they are probably the best combination that I’ve used to date.

Let’s take a closer look at the best run and gun loadout and perks in Call of Duty: Vanguard.

Primary Weapon – M1928

The M1928 is a very powerful SMG with very decent movement and accuracy. Right after I started using it, it immediately caught my attention and I knew it would play a big part in my Vanguard gaming experience since I love running around and gunning my opponents down one after the next.

After leveling up the weapon to a decent level, I managed to unlock all of the attachments. Then, my next job was to review and test a different combination of all to find the ones that work the best for what we’re trying to achieve.

Here are the best run and gun attachments for the M1928.

  • Muzzle: Recoil Booster
  • Barrel: Chariot 2.5″ Rapid
  • Optic: MK 3 Sunfilter
  • Stock: CGC S Adjustable
  • Underbarrel: MK6 Para
  • Magazine: .45 ACP 30 Round Mags
  • Ammo Type: FMJ Rounds
  • Rear Grip: Stippled Grip
  • Proficiency: Gung-Ho
  • Kit: Quick

Let me give you some insight as to why I went for these attachments.

For the Muzzle, the Recoil Booster increases my fire rate by two points while it deducts the accuracy by one point. If you want to keep your accuracy or increase it, I’d recommend going for the No. 3 Rifle Brake.

In terms of the Barrel, I went for the Chario 2.5″ Rapid. This attachment increases the fire rate of the M1928 by quite a margin, making it a lot more lethal. On the downside, we will see a hit in recoil control, accuracy, and maximum hip fire spread. My thoughts are that accuracy doesn’t really matter since we will be facing enemies up-close most of the time.

As for the optic, I went for the simple MK 3 Sunfilter. It increases my precision sight picture by one point. No drawbacks. It’s just a better alternative to the default optic.

I decided to go for the CGC S Adjustable stock as it increases my sprint to fire speed by three points and the movement speed by one point. Using this attachment will mean that we’ll lose two points in initial accuracy and recoil but as I said earlier, that won’t really matter a whole lot in close-range combat.

My underbarrel of choice is the MK6 Para. It increases the aim down sight speed by one point, which is crucial. Another reason why I went for this attachment is because there are no downsides.

As for the Magazine, I went for the .45 ACP 30 Round Fast Mags, which increase the reload speed time by one point but reduce the overall magazine ammo capacity by twenty bullets per mag. Not a deal-breaker. I also made sure to use the FMJ ammo type to ensure that added level of bullet penetration in case an enemy tries to hide or run away.

For the read grip, I went for the simple Stippled Grip, which increases the weapon’s recoil recovery by two points and initial accuracy and recoil by one point. No downsides.

And lastly, for the proficiency, I used Gung-Ho and for the kit, I used Quick. They both give that added level of speed I need to be as quick and as lethal as possible.

Best Run and Gun Perks in CoD: Vanguard

The perks that I’ve decided to go for include Ghost, Tracker, and Double Time. Ghost allows me to stay under the radar from any spy planes, enemy intel, and field mics. I am practically invisible to my enemies. As our goal is to run and gun everyone down, I think that the Tracker perk is the best choice for our second pick as it essentially shows us the recent steps of nearby enemies. You can literally follow the enemy’s steps, find them, and eliminate them.

With all that, the most important perk of them all is the Double Time. Double Time doubles the duration of our tactical sprint and increases our crouch movement by 30%. It essentially makes us a lot more mobile.

Best Lethal and Tactical for Run and Gun Loadouts

As a pretty big fan of the Throwing Knife, that’s what I’ve decided to go for in terms of the Lethal. You can change that to a grenade perhaps if you like to throw those around as a method of clearing up rooms or tight spaces where enemies can be camping.

As for the Tactical, I went for the Stim. Straight after a battle, I can pop that and all of my wounds would cauterize and my tactical spring will be refreshed. I’ll be all ready to go and find my next victim.

Secondary Weapon – Machine Pistol

Upon testing various of the best secondary weapons in Call of Duty: Vanguard, I quickly came to realize that my personal favorite was the Machine Pistol. In my opinion, this is not only the best pistol in Vanguard but is also the most complete secondary weapon.

What I mean by that is that it can give you a fair chance of fighting off any loadout in close-range combat, even the auto-loading shotgun, which is notorious for being super powerful in point-blank scenarios.

These are, in my opinion, the best attachments for the Machine Pistol – as far as rushing and gunning is concerned.

  • Muzzle: No. 3 Rifle Brake
  • Barrel: VDD 35mm Short
  • Optic: Nydar Model 47
  • Trigger Action: Rapid Action
  • Magazine: 7.62 Tokarev 40 Round Mags
  • Ammo Type: Lengthened
  • Rear Grip: Leather Grip
  • Profficiency: Gung-Ho
  • Kit: Quick

These attachments make the Machine Pistol quick, rapid, accurate, and super lethal in close to medium-range combat. It is particularly excellent up close so I wouldn’t go around using it if an enemy is a fair distance away.

Final Thoughts

Now that you’re aware of the best run and gun loadout and perks in Call of Duty: Vanguard, the last thing you need to do is decide whether you want to implement all of my suggestions or partially improve you current loadout.

Either way, feel free to report back to me what you think and if you have any improvements.
