I see what you’re doing. You’re trying to find the right blog post that will give away all of the overpowered weapons in Call of Duty: Vanguard. You want to walk over all of your opponents using a weapon that is far from balanced. A weapon that is just a little too powerful and unfair as compared to everything else that is available in the game.

Luckily, you’ve found the right place. I love testing out various weapons, attachments, and perks with the goal of finding the most overpowered ones because, let’s face it, in every single CoD, there are weapons that are quite literally broken in one way or another.

So, if you want to have an edge over your opponents, continue reading as in this article, we will go over the most overpowered weapons in Call of Duty: Vanguard. Those would include mainly primary weapons but we do have some pretty overpowered secondary weapons that we want to show you too.

Note: Any of the op weapons will be presented to you at face value – without attachments. You have the complete freedom to design the weapon however you want. If we made an overpowered loadout for that particular weapon that we’ve recommended, then, we’ll be sure to link to it.

Most Overpowered Primary Weapons

Having played Vanguard for quite some time and having heard plenty of community feedback, I’ve decided to write up a blog post and list all of the overpowered primary weapons in Call of Duty: Vanguard.

Let’s start with the first one.

MP-40

I am yet to make use of the MP-40 myself (you can see that it is level 1), but according to community feedback, this SMG is the real deal. Just from what I can see, without having used the gun, the speed, firepower, and accuracy and incredible.

Do note that this weapon won’t be unlocked until you’re a little bit of a higher level in the game so you might want to learn how to level up faster if you want to make use of it sooner.

Automaton

Automation 1

The Automaton is one of the assault rifles that you’ll unlock early on in the game. It’s deemed as particularly overpowered thanks to its high accuracy and low recoil.

When I first played with the gun (using it as it is by default), I came first by a margin in a game of free for all. Both close and long-range, the time to kill is impressive even if you come up against players with the much more mobile and quick SMGs.

If you’re yet to try it out, play with it and I promise you won’t regret it. If you’ve already unlocked a decent amount of attachments, then feel free to check out my best Automaton class setup. Easily my favorite AR by far.

M1928

The M1928 ended up on top in terms of the weapon of choice for the best run and gun loadout that we built. By default, you’re fast on foot, have a lot of ammunition to spare, and the firepower and accuracy of this gun are literally next level, especially since this is an SMG and not an AR.

With the right attachments (or none for that matter), your opponents will have a very difficult time taking you out in close, medium, and even long-range.

STG44

Though first amongst all the Assault Rifles in Call of Duty: Vanguard, the STG44 is quite the weapon. In my personal opinion, it is the most overpowered assault rifle amongst the lot. It’s great both close and long-range, especially if you use this amazing STG44 loadout that we built from the ground up.

It’s accurate, has plenty of ammo, super lethal, and you’re actually pretty fast on foot when running around with this op weapon. I’d definitely recommend you to give it a go and tell me what you think, especially if you’re just getting into Vanguard and are at a relatively low level.

MG42

One of the very first weapons that caught my eye, or should I say my head, was the MG42 when I and three other of my teammates got blown out one after another by this LMG. It’s extremely accurate, powerful, and to my disadvantage, it had a lot of bullets in the mags.

Do note that it is quite slow to move around with but that is the case with just about any LMG. It is the perfect weapon for camping out high-traffic areas and corridors. You can literally spray and eliminate a large number of players without having the need to reload – and that is when using the weapon without any attachments at all.

Once we realized that this is one of the most overpowered LMGs in Call of Duty: Vanguard, we had to dedicate some time to exploring the weapon in more detail and ended up creating the best class setup for the MG42 – it’s insane.

Einhorn Revolving Shotgun

The Einhorn Revolving Shotgun is your perfect partner for close-range combat. Though it takes two accurate shots to take down your enemy, the impressive fire rate, they’ll likely not stand the chance in a 1v1 engagement.

One drawback of this awesome shotgun is that once you blow your opponent’s face open, you’ll have to spend quite a long time reloading the shotgun. You can fix that by opting in for a bigger, overall mag as opposed to a mag with individual bullet reloading.

Combat Shotgun

The Combat Shotgun is personally one of my favorites in this year’s Call of Duty: Vanguard and in Call of Duty as a whole. It’s powerful and fantastic at close and medium-range encounters.

To eliminate an opponent from close range, all you need is a single shot to the body or the head of the opponent. From a bit further out, with a decent optic, you can take down opponents with two shots quite easily.

Reload speed isn’t the fastest but it’s definitely not the slowest either.

If you want to make the most out of this weapon, check out my best Combat Shotgun loadout. It’s so good and satisfying. I just run around and pump people in the head without having a single bullet fired my way.

Most Overpowered Secondary Weapon

Your overpowered loadout would be incomplete without an overpowered secondary weapon. So, here’s our only secondary recommendation that you will ever need.

Machine Pistol

This op gun has made it to our best pistol blog post and best secondary weapon in Vanguard article, which already suggests that it is one of a kind. By default, it comes with a pretty impressive fire rate, speed, and accuracy, which makes it the perfect alternative to your primary weapon when in close-range combat.

One downside is that the ammo flies out of the mags pretty fast but you can find a solution to that by using bigger mags.

Ratt

The Ratt is not only the first pistol that you’ll unlock on Vanguard but also one of the most overpowered secondary weapons out there. Even without any attachments, when I first got my hands on this pistol, I was shocked at how good it is.

Though it’s a single fire pistol, the fire rate will strongly depend on how quickly you can press the trigger or click the mouse. The accuracy is also fantastic as the weapon barely requires any control or movement to compensate.

Another plus is that the time to kill an opponent is much shorter than most weapons out there, especially pistols. Do note that you need to be quite accurate as by default, you’ll only have 9 bullets in your magazine, which isn’t a whole lot.

However, once you level up the Ratt, you’ll unlock some very decent attachments that will make the weapon even better than it already is.

Final Thoughts

Using an overpowered gun in Call of Duty: Vanguard will give you an edge over your opponents. Yes, it will be an unfair edge but enjoy it while you can because it’s really fun. Chances are that many people will start using those very weapons soon so the faster you make use of them, the longer you can enjoy them before the developers re-balance the weapons.

Do note that this list is regularly updated by our team based on our own experiences playing Call of Duty: Vanguard and any community input. This way, we can all enjoy the most overpowered weapons and shred through our opponents.
