Have you ever thought about building a base on the water in Grounded? It’s actually extremely uncommon to see someone build a base there as most people prefer the land because it is much easier to build, however, for those who dare, a water base is something that you should definitely try out.
Building a Water Base
In order to build a base in the water, first of all, you need to pick the right location in the pond as that would determine your construction approach. Once you have done that, you must now build your way to the pond.
Note: Regardless of where you want your base in the lake, you must always build a foundation that touches the land. Otherwise, if you break a single piece of building, your whole base will be destroyed. So, make sure that you support your base very well in multiple places that are touching the land in order to prevent such scenarios.
Placing blocks on the land/water is quite sensitive which will require you to move a lot slower in order to get it perfect.
If any of the above sounded a little confusing, here is a step-by-step process to successfully building a water base in Grounded.
Step 1: Start off by placing Scaffold in a straight line, starting from the land and moving into the water. If you don’t want to go too far into the pond, usually 5-6 is good enough but if you want to go deeper, then you will need more.
Step 2: Once you reach your desired distance into the pond, layout the foundation of the whole base using Scaffold.
Step 3: Then, once the whole structure is built, begin to place floors on top of the Scaffold to make a neat-looking bridge and floor foundation for the base.
Step 4: From here, you can just build up your base to your desired needs.
Note: In order to be extra safe, you can connect your base via a bridge to the completely opposite side of the pond so if one part of the structure breaks, the other one will continue to support your base.

In Grounded specifically, if you are looking to build a larger base, it would be quite hard to find a lot of completely flat land that could match your needs. Well, guess what; if you build on the water, you can build your base as long and as wide as you want.
Note: Make sure that you always connect your base in at least two points that are touching the land as it would be a shame to build an amazing base and have it be destroyed.
2) Keeps Many of the Bugs Away
If you don’t already know, most of the bugs in Grounded are residing on the land and absolutely hate the water. So, if you want to stay protected at all times, a base on the water is just what you need.
Furthermore, ants will have a much more difficult time reaching your base if it is on the water, and in turn, they are a lot less likely to steal any of your loot.
