Have you had your fair share of fighting bugs, exploring locations such as the Great Oak Beacon, and building bases out in the lake? If you have done all of that, chances are that you could be a little bored and are looking for a brand new challenge. Well, we don’t want to spoil it too early, but you will be in for a big surprise.
As you may have already noticed, there is a very big house in the back garden of Grounded that has been kept locked by the developers at Obsidian. Quite often, if you look directly at it, it would be so far away that it would just appear as one big blur.
However, members from the Grounded community have taken up the challenge of gathering enough resources in order to build up to the house and reach the roof for the very first time.
If you too want to become one of the few people that have reached such height in Grounded and can proudly say that they have successfully stepped a foot on the roof of the big residential house, continue reading. In this blog, we will show you exactly how to get to the top as well as let you know if it’s worth it in the end. Feel free not to read that part though if you want to keep the excitement until you actually get to the top of the house yourself.
Getting to the Top
Now, when it comes to actually getting to the top, there are a few things that you need to consider.
- Do you have enough materials to get all the way to the top? Bare in mind that it is much higher than you think.
- Do you have enough time to build to the top? Some community members claim that the whole trip to the top can easily take a couple of hours.
After you have considered the above, you need to find a location from which you are going to start building up. We would recommend that you avoid any areas with trees in the way and that you build quite far out away from the house so that you have more space to work with when it comes to building upwards.
Once you decide on a location, simply start building ramps upwards until you reach the very top of the house.
Note: It is also possible to go to the top of the house if you build floors or ramps onto the side walls of the building.
Is It Worth the Building Materials and Time?
As it currently stands, once you get to the top of the big house, and try to walk on any part of it, you will fall through it and die because of fall damage. Even the bonuses from the Grub Armor will not be enough to save you. One way to survive in case you fall is if you bring a parachute with you.
It has been widely discussed in the community whether or not the developers will decorate the house and make it easily accessible to every player in Grounded.
So to answer the question of whether it’s worth it or not, we quite simply don’t think so. Reason being is you can’t really enjoy the great views from above as it will all be one big blur, just like viewing the house from the ground.
Now, if you have nothing else to do and have plenty of spare materials and time on your hands, feel free as the process of going that high up is an adventure within itself.
