To change skins in Minecraft Legends, hit ‘switch hero’ on the main menu. Then, simply the skin you want from the list and tab over to change your mount skin. You can get more skins via the Marketplace or by completing Lost Legends challenges. The Deluxe edition of Minecraft Legends has 4 mount skins and a hero skin, too.
Being able to express yourself is incredibly important in online games, and Minecraft Legends makes it very easy to do so.
The game has a brilliant system for changing your skins on the go, making it simple to change your look up before your next match or before tackling your next Piglin outpost.
It can be confusing to find the right tabs, though, especially if you’re used to the classic Minecraft way of doing things and have been looking for ways to import your custom skins.
Here’s a guide on how to change your skin in Minecraft Legends, including tips on where to get more skins and a quick look at whether you can import custom skins or not.
How to Equip Skins
To equip skins in Minecraft Legends, you’ll need to go to the main menu.
Select the ‘switch hero’ option at the bottom of the screen.
This will take you to the heroes and mounts tab, and you’ll be able to pick from any of your collected skins in the heroes tab.
You can also look in the next tab for skins that you can apply to your mount.
Simply selecting one will apply it, there’s no need to save or do anything else before exiting.
This applies to any settings that you change in the game, too. If you decide to change difficulty levels, for example, you can head straight back out of the menu and start playing the game without needing to do anything else.
Where to Get More Skins
One of the main ways to get more skins in Minecraft Legends is to buy them on the Marketplace.
You can access the Marketplace through the main menu.
In the Marketplace, you can purchase other items like Lost Legends and Myths, alongside new skins and textures.
To purchase new skins, you’ll need to buy Minecoins from your platform’s store.
Once you’ve purchased some Minecoins, they’ll automatically appear in your balance and you’ll be able to shop to your heart’s content. Purchased skins appear directly in your heroes and mounts tab, alongside the standard skins.
You can get skins in other ways, too.
If you purchase the deluxe edition of Minecraft Legends (or upgrade the standard edition, in the same tab that you buy Minecoins from) you can get four unique mount skins and an extra skin for your character, too.
Beating Lost Legends is another way to get extra skins and cosmetics.
Lost Legends is an additional PVE game mode which you can take on with friends. It can be quite tricky in places, and as a result, the rewards are pretty cool.
As an example, the Lost Legends campaign I currently have active on my account is The Portal Pile.
The skin you get as a reward for completing this Legend is the Portal Buster Hero skin.
Custom Skins
While there are plenty of ways to customize your experience in Minecraft Legends, classic Minecraft fans might be sad to know that custom skins are not a thing in the game at the time of writing this article.
It would be great to see this feature in the future, as the custom skin community is absolutely thriving in regular Minecraft.
For now, though, there is no way to import custom skins in Minecraft.
What to Do Next
Now that you know how to get more skins and equip them, why not get set up to take part in some PVP battles? PVP in Minecraft Legends is a hell of a lot of fun.
One of the most important things to do before your first match is to link your game account to your Microsoft account. Without this, you won’t be able to play online.
