There are two important things to consider when choosing a winger to play in your starting XI in FC 24 Ultimate Team. The first is pace, and the other is dribbling.

Several other factors contribute to deciding who the very best wingers are, including body type, weak foot, and skill moves, but those two components are usually key.

It’s still only early days, but this guide runs through ten of the best wingers in FC 24 Ultimate Team. Five of them play predominantly on the left, while the other five start on the right flank.

Caroline Graham Hansen

  • Country: Norway
  • Club: FC Barcelona
  • OVR Rating: 90
  • Default Position: RW

We’re starting off with a completely new addition to Ultimate Team – a female footballer. Graham Hansen plays for Barça Femení in the Primera Division of Spanish women’s football.

She is one of the highest-rated players in the game, and her face card stats are also well-rounded.

She has an overall rating of 89 for pace, 86 for shooting, 88 for passing, 91 for dribbling, 47 for defending, and 75 for physicality. For a winger, those attacking numbers look pretty good for the game’s early stages.

Combine that with the fact that she has a body type that makes her feel good on the ball, and it’s easy to see why Hansen is one of the best wingers in UT for now.

Ludovic Giuly

  • Country: France
  • Club: UCL Hero
  • OVR Rating: 88
  • Default Position: RM

Giuly is one of the new heroes in FC 24. The former Barcelona man was known as a very effective winger in his time, and his UCL Hero card certainly reflects that fact.

He has an overall rating of 90 for pace, 85 for shooting, 85 for passing, 88 for dribbling, 51 for defending, and 60 for physicality. He’s also short, which makes dribbling with him smoother at the expense of some physical ability.

With his French nationality and La Liga links, chemistry is an extra reason to use this card for a while.

Moussa Diaby

  • Country: France
  • Club: Aston Villa
  • OVR Rating: 84
  • Default Position: RM

Like Giuly, Diaby is a short player. He always feels very good on the ball in this game. If you played FIFA 23, then you know how OP his gold card was at the start of the game, and then his promo cards later on as well.

This new 84-rated gold rare card has the same OVR rating as his FIFA 23 one, but EA has generously given him a +2 boost to the base overall score for pace.

This leaves his face card stats at 95 for pace, 73 for shooting, 75 for passing, 87 for dribbling, 42 for defending, and 59 for physicality.

Generally, it appears that EA is stricter with pace scores for players this year, so it’s a big deal that Diaby still got an upgrade in that department. Pace is always king in this game, and you won’t get many better cards that offer that on the flanks to the same degree as this guy.

Neymar Jr.

  • Country: Brazil
  • Club: Al Hilal
  • OVR Rating: 89
  • Default Position: LW

Neymar seems to have dodged EA’s hammer on the ratings of players who moved to the Saudi League. Unlike others such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Sadio Mane, and Brozovic, Neymar retains his 89-rated OVR from FIFA 23.

He has an overall rating of 86 for pace, 82 for shooting, 85 for passing, 94 for dribbling, 37 for defending, and 61 for physicality. Interestingly, that dribbling score is the highest of any player in the game, only level with Lionel Messi’s 90-rated card.

Now, if you’ve used Neymar’s card in recent FIFA games, then you know that this is not a card that is blessed with pace.

You won’t outpace too many fullbacks, and you can get bodied quite often if you don’t use skill moves to full effect. However, if you can use those skill moves, you’ll absolutely love this card.

The 5-star weak foot and skill move combo is what makes this card so OP in-game. Neymar’s cards generally offer some of the best dribbling you’ll get from anyone, and this is very useful for any position in the attack.

Ousmane Dembele

  • Country: France
  • Club: Paris St. Germain
  • OVR Rating: 86
  • Default Position: RW

If you’re still not sold on the Neymar card because of his pace, Dembele is an alternative that combines the best of both worlds.

93 pace is one of the highest scores you’ll get from any high-rated winger in the early stages of Ultimate Team, and he combines that with the 5-star combo as well. However, like Neymar, he’s not very physical and can get bodied off the ball fairly often.

He has an overall rating of 93 for pace, 77 for shooting, 80 for passing, 88 for dribbling, 36 for defending, and 57 for physicality.

This skill set makes him very effective on both flanks, although I would focus more on using him to create chances rather than trying to score because of his average finishing ability.

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia

  • Country: Georgia
  • Club: Napoli
  • OVR Rating: 86
  • Default Position: LW

Khvicha had an incredible Serie A season, and he deservedly got the highest OVR boost of any player on this list as a result of that. He only had a 74-rated card in FIFA 23, so that +12 boost for a new overall of 86 is looking absolutely juicy.

He also has the 5-star weak foot and skill move combo, which makes up for his relative lack of pace for a wide player.

He has an overall rating of 84 for pace, 80 for shooting, 81 for passing, 87 for dribbling, 41 for defending, and 71 for physicality.

I’ll be honest, the OVR boost is nice, but that 5-star combo is the only reason he’s on this list. It just opens up so many more possibilities with the card that not many cards will be able to offer in the early stages of the game.

Rafael Leao

  • Country: Portugal
  • Club: AC Milan
  • OVR Rating: 86
  • Default Position: LW

Rafel Leao’s promo cards were some of my favorites to use in FIFA 23 Ultimate Team. I did not use his gold card as much in the early stages, but I will be doing that this time around.

He now has an 86-rated card with an overall rating of 93 for pace, 80 for shooting, 75 for passing, 87 for dribbling, 27 for defending, and 76 for physicality.

Leao’s biggest strengths in the game are pace and power due to his build, so you can even use him upfront as a lone striker or part of a partnership if you want. That versatility is another one of the reasons why he is one of the best wingers in the game.

It does help that you can switch players to their alternate positions at will without needing a position modifier. It is one of the nicer changes that EA implemented to the game this year, and you can expect to come across Leao a good number of times in the first few weekend leagues as a result.

Mohamed Salah

  • Country: Egypt
  • Club: Liverpool
  • OVR Rating: 89
  • Default Position: RW

For some reason, Mohamed Salah got a -1 downgrade to his card this year. He is no longer part of the 90+ club, but he is still very much one of the best wingers in FC 24.

He has an overall rating of 89 for pace, 87 for shooting, 81 for passing, 87 for dribbling, 45 for defending, and 76 for physicality.

Like Leao, this card can do a good job in any position in the attack, so versatility is a big positive. His dribbling also feels excellent due to his body type, and Premier League links are always OP when it comes to squad-building.

Paulo Futre

  • Country: Portugal
  • Club: UCL Hero
  • OVR Rating: 89
  • Default Position: LW

If you played FIFA between 2014 to 2017, then you may be familiar with this legend, Paulo Futre. He literally has FUT in his name!

Anyway, EA has brought him back to the game as a Hero, and his UCL Hero card is absolute filth.

He has an overall rating of 94 for pace, 83 for shooting, 82 for passing, 94 for dribbling, 38 for defending, and 60 for physicality.

Among the top-tier cards at the start of the game, this is one of the fastest wingers. His dribbling is excellent as well, and he has solid shooting stats to boot. It’s a well-rounded card that should fit most styles of play, and he’s unlikely to be too common due to premium pricing.

Vinicius Jr.

  • Country: Brazil
  • Club: Real Madrid
  • OVR Rating: 89
  • Default Position: LW

Speaking of premium pricing, Vinicius’ new FC 24 card is up there with the best cards in the game.

He’s a 5-star skilled with an overall rating of 95 for pace, 82 for shooting, 78 for passing, 91 for dribbling, 29 for defending, and 68 for physicality.

The combination of these stats with his unique body type and overpowered playstyles makes this arguably the best winger in the game from the start. He can outpace anybody, but he can also execute the little tricks and maneuvers that players such as Neymar excel at.

If you can get your hands on him, you’re set for a reasonable portion of the game’s early stages.

The best way to try and get some of the best players in the game early is by opening packs. If you bought the Ultimate Edition of the game, you have a headstart with the free FC points that come with it for buying store packs.
