When ranking the damage output of the overwhelming number of spells and incantations in Elden Ring, none comes as close to the raw power of Comet Azur. With the right conditions, blasting Comet Azur can obliterate the boss’ health bar before they even have a chance to attack.

On top of that, there are several ways to buff your spell’s damage output to further increase Comet Azur’s potential. For example, the Terra Magica sorcery raises magic damage by 35%.

Pair that with the Lusat’s Glintstone Staff found in Sellia, Town of Sorcery, along with other damage increasing gear and talismans to the end fight quickly. Additionally, the Cerulean Hidden Tear gives you unlimited FP, allowing you to blast Comet Azur to your heart’s content.

The powerful sorcery has a few flaws. For one, it costs 3 spell slots to equip. Another issue is that you’re in a vulnerable state if your opponent dodges out of the way, which means Comet Azur is an all-or-nothing gamble.

Despite that, its raw magical strength is unmatched—a worthwhile addition to any spellcaster’s repertoire. This guide will show you where to get Comet Azur in Elden Ring.

Comet Azur Location

To find Comet Azur in Elden Ring, you have to venture to Hermit Village in Mt. Gelmir, northwest of Altus Plateau. The path to get Comet Azur is filled with dangerous obstacles and numerous valuable detours.

Hermit village

First, fast travel to the Site of Grace nearby the Grand Lift of Dectus. You can activate the lift by acquiring the two halves of the dectus medallion.

Altus Plateau

The first half is located in Fort Haight, southeast of Limgrave, just south of Mistwood. The second half is found in Fort Faroth in Dragonbarrow, past the giant immobile dragon.

From the Grand Lift of Dectus, follow the path north to Lux Ruins. Then, drop down the cliff to the east.

Lux Ruins

Rya will be waiting at the Erdtree-Gazing Hill Site of Grace if you take the alternative path at the Ruin-Strewn Precipice instead of activating the Grand Lift of Dectus.

She would offer you a direct invitation to Volcano Manor if you helped her back at Liurnia of the Lakes. Many friendly NPCs are waiting there, and the Ghiza’s Wheel weapon is nearby as well.

Millicent is also in the area if you progressed her quest far enough. She’s on the hill watching the erdtree.

Travel up the rocky mountain path when you’re ready to move on. You’ll end up at Wyndham Ruins and trigger the Tibia Mariner boss fight.

Wyndham Ruins

This is an optional boss battle as it isn’t mandatory to pass through Wyndham Ruins to get Comet Azur. However, defeating Tibia Mariner rewards you with a Deathroot, a rare resource used to get Beastial incantations in Elden Ring.

The Tibia Mariner at Wyndham Ruins is more challenging compared to the previous ones. It can summon a giant skeleton along with its usual skeletal army. But as long as you stay on Torrent and rush Tibia Mariner you’ll trivialize the fight.

Afterward, pass through the west side of Wyndham Ruins and into the cliffs. The Seethewater River Site of Grace is conveniently placed on the right side of the cliff, just after entering Mt. Gelmir.

Wyndham Catacombs is located just above the Seethewater River Site of Grace. There are many precious items there, like the Lightning Scorpion Charm, a talisman that raises lightning attacks, a massive damage boost to lightning-based casters.

There’s also the Glovewort Picker’s Bell Bearing (1), an item that allows you to purchase the first three tiers of Grave Glovewort flowers. You have to offer Bell Bearings to the Twin Maiden Husks at the Roundtable Hold to add to the shop’s collection.

Grave Glovewort flowers can be given to Roderika to upgrade your spirit ashes. Black Knife Tiche, a reward from defeating Alecto, Black Knife Ringleader, is an especially competent spirit summon.

Follow the Seethewater ravine north. It’s a relatively short trek filled with dangerous hazards, like exploding geysers.

Use the natural rock formations to avoid these hazards. Don’t forget to pick up the valuable Golden Seed at the bottom of the glowing tree.

Directly to the north, there’s an imp statue seal on the bottom of the cliff. You can reach it by climbing the slope on the right and using a Stonesword Key.

seethe

Seethewater Cave is filled with poisonous bogs and sneaky Kindred of Rot enemies. Thoroughly exploring the cave nets you the Mushroom Set, as well as Kindred of Rot’s Exultation talisman, a talisman that increases attack power when nearby a poisoned or scarlet rot-blighted unit.

After that detour, go to the left of Seethewater Cave, further and deeper into the ravine. Dash right through the several hollows that will fall in front of you.

After another set of exploding geysers, you’ll reach the end of Seethewater River. Fort Laiedd is in the distance, guarded by well-armed units. Rest at Seethewater Terminus before proceeding to the east of the fort.

Then, you’ll reach a vast pool of magma. Going anywhere near it will trigger a boss fight against Magma Wyrm.

Again, it’s another optional fight. If you want to skip it, just follow the path on the outer circle of the arena, away from the magma pool.

However, defeating this Magma Wyrm rewards a dragon heart which you can spend to buy dragon incantations. Additionally, it also unlocks the Magma Breath dragon incantation used to spew pools of magma.

Furthermore, defeating Magma Wyrm lets you safely talk to Iron Fist Alexander. He is currently recovering from his wounds from your fight with Starscourge Radahn by bathing in scalding magma.

After the graveyard, you’re nearer to getting Comet Azur in Elden Ring. As you approach the abandoned shacks, rest at the Site of Grace inside the Craftsman’s Shack.

shack

There are many dangerous enemies on the last leg to finding Comet Azur, like an Iron Virgin and a roaming Runebear. Fortunately, the Craftsman’s Shack Site of Grace is a convenient respawn point.

Then, head into Hermit Village and clear out the enemies. There are many prized treasures here, including an obscure item to save Boc, the seamster’s life.

Finally, at the end of the village, there’s a boss fight against Demi-Human Queen Maggie, along with a few Raya Lucaria Academy wizards.

This boss fight is also optional; however, they’re placed so near Comet Azur that it is a safer idea to defeat this group before moving on. You don’t have to beat every enemy, as killing Demi-Human Queen Maggie will also eradicate her followers.

As further incentive, defeating Demi-Human Queen Maggie also rewards a Memory Stone, used to increase spell slots. This is very convenient as Comet Azur requires three spell slots to equip.

When you’re done dealing with that threat, follow the protruding natural rock formation and then turn left. Rest at the Primeval Sorcerer Azur Site of Grace, then look to the south.

primeval

Primeval Sorcerer Azur is hunched up on the corner, covered in green crystals. Interact with his body, and he’ll slowly drop the Comet Azur sorcery.

azur

While the path to get Comet Azur was long and littered with treacherous enemies and hazards, it’s more than worth it just to get one of the most potent spells in Elden Ring.

There’s also a hidden reward that unlocks after finding Comet Azur. After getting the spell, travel to the Waypoint Ruins in Limgrave.

Then, interact with Sellen and tell her about the spell. It turns out that Primeval Sorcerer Azur was one of Sellen’s former mentors, her very first teacher in fact.

Showing her the spell reignites her old goals, and she’ll ask for your help to restore the primeval current of glintstone sorcery. Accepting her request then puts you on a journey to complete Sellen’s quest line.
