Bloodborne fans would be ecstatic to know that the Whirligig Saw weapon lives on in spirit in Elden Ring. The Ghiza’s Wheel weapon shares many similarities, particularly the iconic buzzsaw that can mercilessly shred foes.

According to its item description, the Ghiza’s Wheel armament is a “Great iron wheel lined with flesh-flaying blades. Device of torture used by Inquisitor Ghiza. As the wheel spins it causes severe pain and blood loss. The design was adopted for use as the iconic weapon wielded by Iron Virgins.“

Regarding its stats, it’s a decent weapon overall, albeit with a low D scaling for both strength and dexterity. However, it is immensely amusing and especially intimidating to other players when you start revving up its circular blades. This guide will show you where to the Ghiza’s Wheel in Elden Ring, so you can try it out for yourself.

Ghiza’s Wheel Location

Ghiza’s Wheel is found inside Volcano Manor at Mt. Gelmir in the northwestern part of the Altus Plateau region.

Volcano Manor

There are a few ways to get inside the Volcano Manor. The straightforward way is to cross the bridge west of the Writeblood Ruins in Altus Plateau.

Then, trek through the mountain, and you’ll eventually stumble across a towering spirit spring. Jump all the way to the top to land right into a crater against Full-Grown Fallingstar Beast.

The boss fight is optional as you can run away from it. But, defeating the Full-Grown Fallingstar Beast awards the Fallingstar Beast Jaw, a colossal weapon that scales with strength, dexterity, and intelligence. Additionally, its unique skill, Gravity Bolt, is an amazing and cheap nuke, and it especially shines in PvP.

After fighting or fleeing from the boss, proceed up through the path until you reach the entrance to Volcano Manor.

Another way is to take the rumored path Patches mentioned back in the Scenic Isle in Liurnia of the Lakes. He tells the story of a lone Iron Virgin at the bottom of the big waterwheel in the Academy of Raya Lucaria, and letting yourself get caught in it teleports you straight to the bottom of the Volcano Manor.

The fastest way to do this is by first teleporting to the Schoolhouse Classroom Grace in Raya Lucaria Academy. Then, travel all the way down to the very bottom of the waterwheel. Finally, make sure you die during the Iron Virgin’s grab attack, or else you’ll be sent back to the recent Site of Grace.

However, since you’re at the bottom of the Volcano Manor, you’ll need to fight your way back up to find Ghiza’s Wheel in Elden Ring.

The simplest and easiest method to reach Volcano Manor involves helping Rya. It’s important to do this step before reaching Altus Plateau, or else this option will no longer be available for you.

From Laskyar Ruins in Liurnia of the Lakes, travel north until your reach the Birdseye Telescope. She’s the blond girl wearing green standing inside the gazebo. If you met Patches to the west before meeting Rya, he would even advise you to help her out.

Rya is currently on an errand for the Volcano Manor; however, someone robbed her precious necklace. She mentions that the thief is on the shack to the north, if you accept her quest.

Travel to the north to find the Boilprawn Shack. Blackguard Big Boggart will be sitting near a campfire boiling prawns. You can either buy Rya’s Necklace from him for 1,000 runes or outright kill him for it. I strongly suggest buying it as he has his own questline and the consumables he sells are pretty helpful.

After returning the necklace to Rya, you’ll find her waiting for you at the top of Grand Lift of Dectus. You can either activate the lift by finding the two halves of the medallion: one at Fort Haight in Limgrave and the other at Fort Faroth in Caelid.

Or, take the alternate up the Ruin-Strewn Precipice, north of Liurnia of the Lakes. You can also summon Blackguard Big Boggart to help fight Magma Wyrm Makar, who is guarding the wooden lift up to Altus Plateau.

If you haven’t activated the Grand Lift of Dectus, Rya will be near Lux Ruins in Altus Plateau, north of the Grand Lift. Millicent will also be nearby if you progressed her quest to this point.

Either way, talk to her and she’ll invite you to the Volcano Manor to meet Tanith, the head of the place. Rest at the Site of Grace and head up the stairs near Tanith to find Ghiza’s Wheel in Elden Ring.

Once you climb the stairs, you’ll be in a grand dining hall. Make your way to the end of the hall, near the item on the corpse. After a while, you’ll be invaded by a red phantom named Inquisitor Ghiza.

Invader ghiza

You’ll get to see Ghiza’s Wheel in action as the invaded will have it equipped. Vanquish the NPC invaded in order to claim Ghiza’s Wheel all for yourself.

Ghiza’s Wheel is a colossal weapon that requires 28 strength and 18 dexterity to wield appropriately. Despite that, it has a low base scaling for both attributes, only at D. It is also one of the weapons that the Iron Virgins use.

Ghiza wheel

It will only hit a pitiful C scaling even when fully upgraded using Somber Smithing Stones. Fortunately, it has a high blood loss build-up at 70 per slash.

Its real advantage is its unique weapon skill: Spinning Wheel. When using Spinning Wheel, the player will place the wheel on the ground and spin it full force. Then, you can either run while pushing the wheel to enemies like a crazed lawnmower or stand your ground.

Additionally, it also rapidly stacks bleed build-up on your enemies. Ghiza’s Wheel is a true monster when used against bosses who are vulnerable to bleed, as they’ll be staggered back to back due to the quick accumulation.

Finally, Ghiza’s Wheel heavy and charge attacks also rev the wheel to its top speed. It’s a nice visual flair and another good reason to find Ghiza’s Wheel in Elden Ring.
