The Sword of Night and Flame in Elden Ring is an incredibly fun weapon due to its bombastic weapon skills.
This legendary sword requires 12 strength and dexterity, and 24 intelligence and faith to use its unique abilities.
The sword’s ability is called the Night-and-Flame Stance.
Holding down the weapon skill button readies your sword to cast either an intelligence-based sorcery or a faith-based incantation. The light attack casts a destructive Night Comet spell, similar to the Comet Azur sorcery, while the strong attack casts a sweeping arc of flames.
Despite the nerfs, the Sword of Night and Flame is still one of the best weapons in Elden Ring. While the sorcery needs proper positioning to utilize it, the flame incantation comes out relatively fast and packs a lethal punch.
It also doesn’t consume a lot of focus points for the value it provides.
Additionally, its regular attacks swipe fast since it uses the straight sword moveset. And, it has high physical damage, as well as dealing both magic and fire damage.
The Sword of Night and Flame is still a solid weapon choice for casters. Especially since its weapon art scales with your attributes along with any magic and incantation boosting armor and talisman.
Here’s where to get Sword of Night and Flame in Elden Ring.
Sword of Night and Flame Location
You can get Sword of Night and Flame inside the Caria Manor. The Caria Manor itself is located in the northwestern area of the Liurnia of the Lakes.
First, make your way to the region’s western edge, then follow the path north. Activate the Site of Grace at Kingsrealm Ruins because the manor employs magical defenses to keep unexpected visitors at bay.
Smithing Master Ijji is right next to the Site of Grace at the ruins. He’s a giant smith that Blaidd referred to after you helped him defeat Bloodhound Knight Darriwil. After mentioning this to the blacksmith, he’ll offer you exclusive services.
From here, you should see Caria Manor to the north. Mount your horse and make your way there.
Listen carefully to the audio cue of the magic spell. It will try to catch your projected path with a rain of massive magical arrows. Therefore, dodge to the side when you hear the spell.
You can activate a Site of Grace at the Caria Manor gate. From here, you have to proceed on foot.
The main enemies in the courtyard are disembodied hands that move like spiders. They love to surprise you by dropping from the wall or burrowing underground to catch you like a venus fly trap. Worse of all, they scutter surprisingly fast, and it is always an unpleasant sight watching one come full-speed towards you.
Fortunately, they’re extremely weak against fire. They’ll squirm around helplessly when hit by any fire-based damage or spells.
There are a few items scattered around the courtyard that you could find through exploration. When facing the fountain, take a detour to the right side for some precious loot.
The Sword of Night and Flame is actually in the building near the fountain. However, it is locked for now and you have to enter through the rooftop. Therefore, follow the main path and into the chapel.
Climb the ladder and rest at the Site of Grace before exiting towards the stone walkways. Don’t rush through these walkways because magic carian soldiers appear when you’ve walked past a certain point.
It can be a hassle to deal with when you spawned a large number of them. Since the walkways are narrow, you could end up falling to your death when attempting to dodge.
When you reach the first stone tower, turn left. Follow that path until you reach the third stone tower. Then, look at the rooftop below and jump towards it.
Jump down another rooftop and there’s an opening with a ladder you can descend.
Finally, open the chest to get the Sword of Night and Flame. From here, you can either unlock the door or fast travel back to the Site of Grace at the second floor of the chapel.
