Gang Beasts

gang beasts
Genre:Action, Adventure, Casual
Developers:Boneloaf, Coatsink
Release Date:December 12, 2017
Find at:Steam
Multiplayer:Shared/Split Screen PvP
Average Playtime:2 hours

At first glance, Gang Beasts seem like a cute multiplayer game that you can play with friends. You’ll be playing as colorful, squishy characters that get all wobbly when moving.

Imagine gelatin rubber-like characters running around maps because of the ragdoll physics. You can even choose your own costume by mixing and matching outfits and accessories for your character. Sounds adorable, right? But Gang Beasts is far from what it seems.

The game is not suitable for young audiences as it involves a lot of fighting, kicking, punching, and throwing people to their demise.

Your goal is to be the last one standing to win rounds. While playing the game, try to throw as many punches as you can at your opponents.

Knocking them out will make them defenseless and easy to eliminate. Remember that controlling your character will be difficult since your body moves in a very unpredictable way.

There are a lot of different maps in the game. Each map has elements that can help you eliminate your friends.

For example, there is a map in the game where you are on a subway platform. Trains pass by from time to time. What you can do is wait for the perfect time when the train is almost near the platform, then push your friend in.

You can have up to 8 players in one game, making it very chaotic and fun at the same time. Picture everyone trying to land punches on each other and failing every time. That would be so hilarious.

Pummel Party

Pummel Party
Genre:Board Game, Action, Casual,
Developers:Rebuilt Games
Release Date:September 20, 2018
Find at:Steam
Multiplayer:Online PvP, Shared/Split Screen PvP
Average Playtime:7 hours

Pummel Party can be played with up to 8 people. Its game style is that of a board game where you and your friends have to take turns in rolling the dice and moving in whichever direction you prefer.

The main goal of this game is to collect the goblets scattered around the map. Upon landing on the Trophy Tile, you will be asked to surrender 40 keys in exchange for a goblet.

You can also customize the number of goblets needed to win the game. If you want your game to be longer, you can put more into it so that competition will be tighter.

Let’s get to the fun part. After each round is finished, meaning all players have each taken their turns in rolling the dice, there are mini-games. The mini-games are randomized.

They are a series of games that test your speed, memory, and wits and boil down to how good you are.

The order in which you finish the mini-games is very important as this will be the sequence when you roll the dice in the next round. Aside from that, the top 3 finishers will each get an item that they can use to their advantage.

At the end of the game, everyone will attend the Pummel Awards, where the best of the best are awarded their own goblets.

These goblets are used to buy capes that can be equipped while in-game. The funniest thing about this game is that the loser gets jailed in the end while everyone else can run around freely.

There are two modes to this game, the Last Stand and Snatch Squad. In Last Stand, you will battle it out with your friends by beating each other up with your bare fists or with the random weapons sitting around the map.

The player who is the last one standing wins the round. The maps will also have elements that can help end the round faster. For example, you get a map with a submarine. The submarine sinks over time, and not only do you have to try your best not to fall overboard but also try not to sink.

In Snatch Squad, you will be divided into two teams. Your objective is to drop the gummiest bears into your pit to win. As simple as the objective sounds, the gummy bears that you will need to carry are life-sized, making it difficult to move around with them.

Rubber Bandits

Rubber Bandits
Genre:Action, Casual, Destruction
Developers:Flashbulb
Release Date:December 2, 2021
Find at:Steam
Multiplayer:Online PvP, Shared/Split Screen PvP
Average Playtime:2 hours

Rubber Bandits is a multiplayer party game that can be played with up to 4 people. You play as thieves who have to scavenge, steal, and destroy items in order to gain loot and obtain money. The game has three modes: Heist, Brawl, and Arcade.

In Heist, you and your friends would have 21 items to loot. Your objective is to escape with the most items as they are equivalent to the money you earn in the game.

In order to do so, you must fight your opponents first by using any available weapon to knock them out.

When you knock a player out, you will have ample time to run away without them chasing you. It is best to focus on fighting first before you start looting to get that leeway.

Brawl is basically a deathmatch between you and your three other friends. Everyone starts with three health points.

The goal of this mode is to eliminate all health points of players by knocking them out. The last man standing wins. Here, you can also use weapons to outlive your opponents.

The last mode is Arcade. In this mode, you will have to go against AI cops to obtain loot. These cops gatekeep and protect the loot.

Players can fight and hit cops with any weapon that they are holding but be warned, though, cops can also fight back, making it a bit more challenging with their unpredictable moves.

If you decide to go to college, you will have to pay your tuition, but in return, you will gain more Knowledge.

If you decide to work immediately, you will get your salary earlier. However, there will be taxes, just like in real life. Every time you land on a tile, you have two choices to pick. These choices will be part of your decision-making process as you live your life through the game.

There is a lucky number that can be attached to the card you choose. For example, you choose to be a Film Director, and you see the number 3 with a star next to it.

Upon picking the card, there will be a star placed on the number 3 of the spinner. Every time someone lands on your number, they have to pay you 50k. When you land on your own lucky number, you get bonus money from the bank.

Aside from the lucky number, the card you pick can also have equivalent attributes attached to them.

You will have a total of three attributes: Knowledge, Happiness, and Wealth. You will know if you have the most attributes if you see a crown beside the symbols. The winner of the game will be the person with the most attributes and money combined.

The final mode is the Golden Boomerang. It starts with a golden boomerang in the middle. Acquiring this will grant you a crown and power.

Among Us

Genre:Casual, Social Deduction, Survival
Developers:Innersloth
Release Date:November 16, 2018
Find at:Steam
Multiplayer:Online PvP, Lan PvP, Online Co-op, Lan Co-op
Average Playtime:27 hours

Among Us is a party game but, at the same time, can also be a psychological thriller, depending on how you perceive it. You will play in a lobby with Crewmates and Impostors.

The objective of each Crewmate is to finish their tasks as quickly as possible. The Impostors, on the other hand, will have to stealthily sabotage the missions by shutting down the power source or turning off the oxygen levels.

Impostors can also choose to murder Crewmates one by one as well, to get the upper hand.

There will be vents for Impostors to use, but once they get caught, it is likely possible that a Crewmate will report them.

When someone presses a report, this will call all players to assemble. Among Us uses democracy as players get to vote on who they think is the Impostor.

The player that receives the most votes gets ejected from the game. Once ejected, you can still roam around the map as a ghost but can’t do anything else.

You also lose the ability to type in the chat box. Ejected players have their own chat box where they can openly discuss the events that happened before they were eliminated, such as who caught them or who murdered them.

The winner is usually the team who is the sneakiest or the best at mind games. Of course, teamwork plays a big part in the game.

You can twist facts to steer the players’ opinions to your advantage. This is why we described the game as a psychological thriller at the beginning.

Multiplayer:Online Co-op, Shared/Split Screen Co-op

Pico Park is a game that can be played with up to 8 players. The goal of the game is simple: get the key and open the door to exit. But before you are able to do this, you must first undergo a lot of stress and frustration with a bit of yelling here and there.

In the Flexible Level mode, you and your friends must cooperate with one another to solve puzzles and finish each level.

This mode requires 100% teamwork. You will need to stack above each other, gather your strength to push boxes together, and jump without falling.

As easy as this may seem, it requires a lot of patience and confidence with your team. If one falls, everyone starts over again. Imagine how frustrating it would be if you are almost at the end when one of you suddenly makes a mistake.

If the cooperative games get too heated, you can choose to go against each other in Battle Mode. The player who scores the most points wins the game.

Pico Park is the type of game that tests your friendship or bond with the people you play with. We only have one piece of advice for you: Do not press the red button!
