Hosidius in OSRS is an important location with valuable Farming and Cooking resources, as well as the location of several quests. It is one of the five houses of Great Kourend, located on the Isle of the same name.

Within Hosidius and its surroundings, players can find a number of Farming patches, the Hosidius clay ovens, and several other Farming adjacent activities, such as the Tithe Farm, Hosidius Vinery, and making sulphurous fertiliser.

All that being said, there is a large variety of transportation and teleportation methods players can use to reach Hosidius for easier participation in these activities. In this guide, I will demonstrate how to get to Hosidius in OSRS.

Simple Walking

As mentioned above, there are several ways to get to Hosidius in Old School RuneScape. First, you must complete the quests ‘X Marks the Spot’ and ‘Client of Kourend’ to unlock access to Great Kourend.

Both quests can be started in the same place, by talking to Veos in the Lumbridge bar. They are designed to be completed very early into an account’s progression. At the end of ‘Client of Kourend,’ you will find yourself on the docks.

The first way to get to Hosidius in OSRS is simply to run there from the Great Kourend docks. It is a bit of a trek, but you can simply run south from the docks and you will soon reach Hosidius. In fact, many of the other methods I will talk about require you to have previously visited.

Most of the following methods require you to complete quests, kill monsters, or otherwise participate in some of the content surrounding the town. You will undoubtedly set foot inside the town while doing so.

Teleport to House

A second way to get to Hosidius in Old School RuneScape is to use a teleport to house spell or tablet. This method has a few requirements: your house must be in Hosidius, and you must have 40 Magic, as well as the required runes.

You can change the location of your house to Hosidius by talking to one of the Estate Agents found throughout the world with at least 25 Construction. You will need to pay 8,750 gp to have your house moved to Hosidius.

If your house is not in Hosidius, you can use a scroll of redirection on teleport to house tablets. The scrolls of redirection can be bought from the Nightmare Zone rewards shop, for 775 points each. Simply use the scroll on a tablet, and select Hosidius from the list of possible locations.

Xeric’s Talisman

The third way of getting to Hosidius in OSRS I will mention is the Xeric’s Talisman. Using the Xeric’s Talisman, you can select the ‘Xeric’s Glade’ option to be brought northeast of the Hosidius Farming patch.

Xerictalisman

The Xeric’s Talisman is an uncommon drop from the lizardmen, brutes, and shamans that can be found across the province. It must also be charged with lizardman fangs; also a drop from the same monsters. Check out this guide for more info on how to get a Xeric’s Talisman

Kourend Castle Teleport

Another method of traveling to Hosidius is the Kourend Castle teleport spell. This method is similar to the original, in that you will be teleported close to the docks on Kourend. You simply need to run south a little bit, and you will reach Hosidius.

Castletele

You need 69 Magic and the proper runes for the Kourend Castle teleport spell. It also must be unlocked by reading the book ‘Transportation Incantations,’ which can be found while helping patrons of the Arceuus Library.

Kharedst’s Memoirs/Book of the Dead

The next transportation method to get to Hosidius is to use Kharedst’s Memoirs or the Book of the Dead. Kharedst’s Memoirs is a book rewarded to you by Veos when you complete the ‘Client of Kourend’ quest. It can be upgraded to the Book of the Dead after the quest “A Kingdom Divided.’

In order to use the book to teleport, you need to reunite it with its missing pages. Each of these pages is rewarded for completing a quest related to each of the Kourend houses. To get to Hosidius, you need to complete ‘The Depths of Despair’.

You can start ‘The Depths of Despair’ by speaking to Lord Kandur Hosidius in his house, northwest of the Vinery. You need at least 20% Hosidius favor, 18 Agility, and the ability to kill a level 36 monster for this quest.

Bookofdead

After the quest, you can simply use the “lunch by the lancalliums” option when reminiscing with Kharedst’s Memoirs/the Book of the Dead. This will bring you just northwest of Hosidius proper, near the clay ovens.

Skills Necklace

A much simpler method of getting to Hosidius in OSRS is to use a skills necklace. Rub your skills necklace and teleport to the Woodcutting Guild. While you need a certain amount of Hosidius favor to access the Woodcutting Guild, it’s not necessary to enter.

Simply run northeast from the Woodcutting Guild teleport and you will reach Hosidius. You should consider getting enough favor to enter the Guild, though. It contains many great resources, including one of the best places to cut yews in the game.

Planting a Spirit Tree

If you have the skills and items for it, planting your own spirit tree can be a method of getting to Hosidius in Old School RuneScape. There is a spirit tree patch just west of the city, within the saltpetre mines.

You need 83 Farming to plant one spirit tree, 91 to plant two, and 99 to plant an unlimited number of spirit trees. You also need at least 35% Hosidius favor to use the Hosidius spirit tree patch.

Tithe Farm Minigame Teleport

The final method of reaching Hosidius in OSRS I will discuss is the minigame teleport to the Tithe Farm. The Tithe Farm is a Farming minigame activity in which you plant and harvest quickly-growing seeds.

Tithefarmtele

In order to use this teleport, you need 100% Hosidius favor, and to have entered the Tithe Farm at least once. When these conditions have been met, navigate to the ‘Grouping’ tab in the Clan interface. Select ‘Tithe Farm’ from the dropdown menu, and click ‘teleport.’

Gaining Favor

The favor mentioned at several points in this guide can be obtained by pushing the plows in the southeast section of Hosidius. Do this until you have 5% favor. At 5% favor, you can combine saltpetre and regular compost to make sulphurous fertiliser.

Both these ingredients are tradeable, so you can buy your favor in this way. To get to 100% favor from 5%, you need to make 950 buckets of sulphurous fertiliser. Simply talk to the clerk in the middle of the saltpetre mine, and she can take them straight from your bank.

If you play Ironman, you can mine saltpetre around the clerk, and buy compost from various Farming shops; one is located in Hosidius. Buy packs of compost from the shop and store them at the nearby Tool Leprechaun, then gather the saltpetre.

Final Thoughts

Getting to Hosidius in OSRS can be done in a variety of ways. Of course, you can simply take a ship to the docks, or teleport to Kourend Castle, and run south to Hosidius. You could also use a Xeric’s Talisman or skills necklace.

Alternatively, you can use the Kharedst’s Memoirs/Book of the Dead, a house teleport spell or tablet, plant a spirit tree, or use the Tithe Farm minigame teleport.
