Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has a category of weapons called Battle Rifle. In this category, players will find semi-automatic rifles with excellent damage output.

The damage of these weapons is high to compensate for the fact you can’t hold down the trigger. They reward accuracy as much as they punish inaccuracy.

According to Modern Warfare 2, the Lachmann-762 is a high-powered .458 combat rifle that does significant damage at medium range.

If you trust your aim and want to make the most out of this weapon, stick around. This is the best Lachmann-762 loadout in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 that we found during the beta.

That said, the article will be updated as soon as the game is out since there will be more attachments available.

Best Lachmann-762 Attachments in Modern Warfare 2

Lachmann 762 3
  • Barrel: Romeo FT 16″ Barrel
  • Laser: FSS OLE-V Laser (Optional: replace Ammunition)
  • Optic: Cronen Mini Red Dot
  • Stock: None
  • Underbarrel: VX Pineapple Vert Grip / FTAC Tiger Grip
  • Ammunition: 7.62 High Velocity
  • Magazine: 15-Round Mag (Optional: replace Ammunition)
  • Rear Grip: LMK-64 Grip
  • Receiver: Lachmann 7.62
  • Muzzle: Sakin Tread-40 Comp

With this setup, you lose a bit of the weapon’s handling and mobility in exchange for range, accuracy, and damage.

Much like we recommend in our best Lachmann Sub loadout guide, you will need to invest a lot more in accuracy to make this weapon useful.

Generally speaking, your Aim Down Sight Speed and Movement Speed will be slightly worse, but the rifle will be more reliable at all distances.

This weapon has the potential to take down an adversary with a single shot — or burst, actually.

Although hitting a quick burst to the head is more than what you need, two short bursts to the chest can also get the job done.

That said, I do recommend using the Lachman as a medium to long-distance weapon. It’s never a bad idea to use Overkill to carry an SMG with the Lachmann-762, and the Fennec 45 is a great secondary weapon for this loadout.

The Cronen Mini Red Dot helps you with accuracy, but it can be a problem. I particularly like using the hybrid optical attachment with Battle and Marksman Rifles.

Your Aim Down Sight Speed will be somewhat slower with the VX Pineapple Vert Grip, but your hip fire accuracy and gun kick control will increase.

Your Aim Down Sight Speed will suffer a bit, but you need the stability. Perhaps you can use your iron sights instead of an optical attachment to increase your ADS Speed. However, Gun Kick Control is crucial if you need to fire successive bursts on a target.

Optional Setups

The goal for the optional setup is to find another playstyle to make the weapon great. Since we talked a lot about sacrificing ADS Speed on the attachments above, there are ways we can improve on it.

The Lachmann-762 packs a lot of damage because, well, it is a 7.62 gun. You will most likely lose all battles against players with an SMG on CQB.

However, if we improve the ADS Speed and mobility of the gun, we can still have a chance at winning CQB battles.

FTAC Tiger Grip only slightly reduces your ADS Speed for a lot better hip fire accuracy. Adding the FSS OLE-V Laser and 15-round Mag will compensate more than enough for all the ADS Speed losses on the other attachments.

You still might be a little slower against other rifles and SMGs, but it will definitely help. The point of this optional setup is to minimize the situations wherein you see an enemy, and you barely get to see your sight and die instantly.

Sometimes, you have to pre-aim corners before pushing through and the ADS Speed will sure improve your speed and reaction time to shoot once you see an enemy.

Best Secondary Weapon and Attachments

  • Barrel: None
  • Laser: None
  • Optic: None
  • Stock: Demo Quicksilver Stock
  • Underbarrel: VX Pineapple Vert Grip
  • Ammunition: None
  • Magazine: 15-Round Magazine
  • Rear Grip: Xten Grip
  • Receiver: Fennec 45
  • Muzzle: Forge-Tac Castle Compensator

The idea of using an SMG as a secondary weapon is to have a quick alternative with decent firepower.

For that reason, this will not be the best loadout for running and gunning. The weapon doesn’t need to be balanced but to cover for the Lachmann-762 weaknesses. We want a light, quick weapon that you can use even before pressing the Aiming Down Sight button.

With that in mind, use the Xten Grip to quicken your Sprint to Fire and Aim Down Sight Speed.

To make this weapon lighter and quicker, I recommend utilizing the 15-Round Magazine.
