It is debatable if the Lockwood is the best close-quarters weapon in MW2. However, it is undoubtedly one of the best.
Up close, a single shot can take down an enemy, and you don’t even have to aim it perfectly.
That said, there are ways to make this shotgun even better. However, to make that happen, you have to use the right attachments.
Keep reading to learn about the best Lockwood 300 loadout in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2.
The Best Lockwood 300 Class Setup in MW2
- Barrel: Matuzek 812 Barrel
- Laser: Point-G3P 04
- Optic: None
- Stock: Heist Stock Mod
- Underbarrel: Agent Grip
- Ammunition: None
- Magazine: None
- Guard: None
- Receiver: Lockwood 725
- Muzzle: Bryson Series IX Choke
Honestly, you can certainly use the Lockwood 300 the way it is. It still one-shots people, and it is super effective at short distances. However, you won’t be face-to-face with your enemies at all times.
For that reason, the idea behind this loadout is to make the Lockwood 300 more accurate from a decent enough distance that you can actually use it effectively on most MW2 maps.
With all these parts together, you will constantly surprise your enemy by one-shotting them at medium distances with such a powerful weapon.
However, be careful. The Lockwood 300 only fires two shots before you need to reload. On top of that, you must reload each bullet individually.
It might be a good idea to use your secondary weapon to shoot someone who is already close instead of trying to hide and reload.
Barrel: Matuzek 812
This is one of the most important parts of this build. You must get the Lockwood to level 14 to use it, so you might want to check how to get double XP tokens to speed up the process.
The cons of this barrel are reduced Aim Down Sight Speed and Movement Speed, which is quite common for many attachments.
Although both are usually pretty bad things, you get more Damage Range, Bullet Velocity, Recoil Control, and, most importantly, Tighter Pellet Spread.
This means that the Lockwood 300 becomes significantly more accurate and more damaging at a distance.
Now, with the Matuzek 812, you have a weapon that can take down an enemy with a single shot that works pretty well at medium distances.
Laser: Point-G3P 04
This is by far one of the best lasers you can use with the Lockwood 300 since its benefits significantly outweigh the cons of equipping it.
You get extra Hip Recoil Control, Hip Fire Accuracy, and Sprint to Fire Speed in exchange for making the laser visible at the hip.
For that reason, this attachment makes the Lockwood 300 very useful for running and gunning in maps like Mercado Las Almas that incentivize close-quarters combat.
Stock: Heist Stock Mod
You need to get the Lockwood 300 to level 23 in order to unlock this stock mod, so it might take a while.
However, once you unlock this piece and equip it, you will have more Aim Down Sight Speed, Sprint to Fire Speed, Movement Speed, and Hip Recoil Control.
Since we want your Hip Fire accuracy to be good, this mod will do the trick. You do lose Aiming Stability and Aiming Recoil Control, but we don’t need those two that much.
Although we did use the Matuzek 812 to have a tighter pellet spread, the still is a spread when you shoot, which mitigates the lack of stability enough.
Underbarrel: Bruen Sync Shot Grip
This grip unlocks at level 22, and it diminishes your walk speed a bit. However, not only it barely changes, the trade-off is worth it.
In exchange, your Accuracy stat bar gets noticeably longer. This attachment directly increases your Aiming Idle Stability and Hip Fire Accuracy.
At this point, you might run around shooting people without even holding down your Aim Down Sight button unless you have the time and they are at a certain distance.
Other than that, you will be able to run around bunny-hopping and chest-shooting people.
Muzzle: Bryson Series IX Choke
We are going to end this class setup with a little more damage and accuracy. The Bryson Series IX Choke increases your Damage Range and provides TIghter Pellet Spread.
That means that the shotgun becomes even more reliable at medium distances. Still, you will lose Recoil Steadiness and Aim Down Sight Speed in the process.
This should be fine, though. As I mentioned, at this point, you won’t even need to ADS as much. Trust the laser and your Hip Fire Accuracy.
Alternative Lockwood 300 Class Setup
- Barrel: 711 Matuzek D50
- Laser: 1MW Quickfire Laser
- Optic: None
- Stock: Cronen Marshal Stock
- Underbarrel: FSS Sharkfin 90
- Ammunition: None
- Magazine: None
- Guard: None
- Receiver: Lockwood 725
- Muzzle: Xten v1.3 Choke
Although we provided a very good class setup here, maxing the Lockwood 300’s level takes a while. That said, there is a very efficient way to use this weapon without maxing it up.
This loadout makes the Lockwood 300 slightly more damaging and somewhat more accurate in exchange for some of its ADS and Walking Speed.
After trying this loadout, I can’t say that I felt much of the cons, but I certainly feel like it was easier to get some longshot kills.
This is the perfect loadout for you to use while leveling up the Lockwood 300. This also helps you feel the difference between the base Lockwood 300 and a modified one.
Maybe you will eventually find something that works better for you by using a few different class setups.
