Quickscoping arguably saw its biggest rise in popularity during the original Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, released way back in 2009.

Many online arguments were settled in one simple way; Rust, 1v1, quickscopes, and no-scopes only (plus the odd throwing knife for good measure).

The best sniper in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 is not necessarily the best one for quickscoping. They can be reliable and slow and one-shot any enemy, but rifles only work for quickscoping with great stability and lightning-fast aim-down-sight speed.

If you’re looking for the fastest ADS sniper in Modern Warfare 2, here are the best quickscope sniper loadouts in the game.

The Best Sniper for Quickscoping

SP X 80 Quickscope

The best sniper will be the SP-X 80 or the FJX Imperium.

SP-X 80

  • Barrel: 18.5′ Bryson LR Factory
  • Laser: Corio Laz-44 V3
  • Optic: Any preferred optic that increases your ADS Speed (Optional)
  • Stock: FSS Merc Stock
  • Underbarrel: None
  • Ammunition: None
  • Magazine: 8-Round Mag (Optional)
  • Rear Grip: Schlager Match Grip
  • Receiver: SP-X 80
  • Muzzle: None
  • Bolt: FSS ST87 Bolt

Before explaining the attachments, let’s first learn how you will play this setup.

Quickscoping has been a legitimate build to destroy lobbies because of its power to one-shot enemies. The setup ultimately depends on the ADS or aim down-sight speed because most of your battles will be decided by your ability to hit the enemy as fast as possible on your first hit.

The faster you can aim down sight and hit the target, the stronger the setup will be – hence, quickscoping.

A lot of players run the best quickscoping sniper like an SMG, where they aggressively push every part of the map and hope to shoot anyone with just one bullet.

This means that mobility will also play a big role in the setup. You would want to rush every position and practice your reflexes to ADS every time you get a glimpse of an enemy.

Master the timing where you are already shooting as soon as your optics flash on the screen.

Let’s move on to the attachments.

The mandatory attachments are the Schlager Match Grip and Corio Laz-44 V3. These three attachments improve your ADS speed by a lot without sacrificing much.

The Corio Laz-44 V3 reveals your position in CQB because of the laser, but you wouldn’t mind it.

For the last two attachment slots, you have some options. If you want a build that has the best ADS speed, you want to get the 18.5′ Bryson LR Factory barrel and a smaller optic sight.

Sniper rifles have a default scope, which is usually heavy. You can see how heavy they are by looking at the handling stat of the weapon.

That is why if you equip a smaller optic sight, you get to increase your ADS speed even more.

If you prefer the default scope, you can sacrifice a little ADS speed for the FSS ST87 Bolt.

The FSS ST87 Bolt brings a lot of quality-of-life improvements to the setup. It increases your fire rate, which helps you shoot more when things get a little hectic.

For example, you see more than 2 or 3 enemies clumped up together and pushing. If you hit your first shot, you have a better chance of hitting the 2nd enemy if you have the FSS ST87 Bolt attachment.

When you miss your first shot, you can recover and shoot the 2nd shot much faster. Most pro players prefer using the FSS ST87 Bolt because it does help a lot when you are stomping lobbies.

Choosing the right combination catered to your playstyle can be hard because switching through these optional attachments also makes the build feel smooth with the SP-X 80.

Another thing you can switch would be the 8-Round Magazine attachment. For extremely aggressive players, this could benefit you to get more streaks sporadically.

FJX Imperium

  • Carry Handle: Field-Wrapped Handle
  • Ammunition: .408 Explosive (optional)
  • Rear Grip: Skull-40
  • Stock: FJX KILO-TAC
  • Laser: VLK LZR 7MW
  • Bolt: FJX Blast

These are all the best attachments for increasing your handling (ADS) as much as possible. There are a few attachments you can swap out for your preference.

You can remove the rear grip for your preferred optics. Most players usually run the sniper with their own built-in scope, but if you have a preferred optic to use, you can still use it.

The FJX Bolt is extremely powerful as it allows you to shoot faster, but it depends on your game mode or playstyle.

Best Perks for Quickscoping

  • Base Perk 1: Overkill
  • Base Perk 2: Scavenger or Double Time
  • Bonus Perk: Fast Hands, Cold Blooded, or Focus
  • Ultimate Perk: Ghost

Although quickscoping is about being mobile and deadly, it is not the same as running and gunning. However, with Overkill, those two can be a bit interchangeable.

Overkill is my go-to perk since it allows me to carry an SMG and a rifle at the same time. SMGs are fast weapons that don’t limit your movement speed too much and can be incredibly deadly at close to medium ranges.

You will need to move around a lot to stay alive and reposition yourself. This is why Double Time becomes useful here. Double Time also increases your crouching movement, which can be useful to move and aim behind covers.

Double Time can compensate for your slower movement speed using Overkill. If not, it might be better to go with something else.

As for your secondary perk, I highly recommend Scavenger so you can constantly have ammo to keep firing at your targets.

If you go for Double Time, you can always get the ammunition box to help refill your ammo.

Best Lethal and Tactical

  • Field Upgrade: Munition Box
  • Lethal: Drill Charge
  • Tactical: Stim, Flash, or Stun

Munition Box helps a lot for your ammo sustain. The SP-X 80 doesn’t have a lot of bullets, but you don’t need that many anyway if you are hitting your shots.

You will never run out of bullets as long as you have the Munition Box. If you have the Scavenger perk, you can pick another one.

Drill Charge is good because it can force enemies to go out of position instead of you pushing into dangerous territory.

You can change the lethal based on the game mode you are playing anyway. Claymores and mines have good uses for modes like Domination, even if your playstyle is to go crazy aggressive for point captures.

Stim is great for players who are very mobile and aggressive. Flashes and stuns are also good to clear out corners.

You can also use these flashes and stuns to check if an enemy is in the vicinity. You will be able to see on your crosshair if you hit anyone with your tactical.

The Best SP-X 80 Loadout

As I mentioned before, sniping and quickscoping are different things. Either way, we have an article with the best SP-X 80 loadout in Modern Warfare 2.

One of them is for quickscoping. Make sure to check it out. With the right loadout and the best Sniper, you will soon be taking down each of your enemies with a single bullet.
