With Call of Duty’s fast gunplay, sniper rifles are often overlooked. Their strengths are obvious – range and damage, but these sniper rifles are heavy, slow, and leave a lot of room for mistakes.

However, the SP-X 80 is a bit different. This sniper rifle has virtually no weaknesses for someone who can master the weapon with the best attachments unlocked.

We will show you the best SP-X 80 loadout in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 by diving into all the attachment details, perks, tactical, playstyle, and everything else to get an advantage.

How Good is the SP-X 80?

The SP-X 80 is the last sniper rifle you can unlock in the game. You need to level up these weapons SP-R 208 > SA-B 50 > LA-B 330 to unlock the SP-X 80.

Since you will be grinding to unlock the SP-X 80, you want to know how good the SP-X 80 is first before grinding it.

Well, the SP-X 80 boasts the fastest-handling sniper in the game. This means that this weapon will be the best sniper for quickscoping.

Depending on the game mode you are playing, sniper rifles can have different strengths. Playing on big maps for game modes like Ground War or Invasion can put more emphasis on adding damage and range to your sniper rifle than speeding up handling or ADS speed.

This might change the flexibility of using the SP-X 80 because the weapon’s strength is all on speed.

Needless to say, the SP-X 80 is definitely the best sniper in the game. You can literally beat anyone from any range with a fully maxed-out SP-X 80, even SMG or shotgun users on CQB can lose to you.

Quickscoping Loadout

SP X 80 Loadout

The concept of quickscoping is simple. Your goal is to scope or ADS (aim down sight) and shoot as fast as possible. If you hit the timing correctly as the scope flashes on your screen, your shot will be accurate.

To build on this setup, you want to increase your handling as high as possible. All attachments should be focused on improving your aim down sight speed.

Here are the attachments you need to equip.

  • Barrel: 18.5′ Bryson LR Factory
  • Laser: Corio Laz-44 V3
  • Optic: Any preferred optic that increases your ADS Speed (Optional)
  • Stock: PVZ-890 TAC Stock
  • Underbarrel: None
  • Ammunition: None
  • Magazine: 8-Round Mag (Optional)
  • Rear Grip: Schlager Match Grip
  • Receiver: SP-X 80
  • Muzzle: None
  • Bolt: FSS ST87 Bolt

Every attachment here improves your aim down sight speed except for the FSS ST87 Bolt attachment.

All these attachments are mandatory if you want to have the fastest quickscoping sniper out there.

However, the only tweaks you can swap in and out would be the 18.5′ Bryson LR Factory barrel, optics, 8-Round magazine, and the FSS ST87 Bolt.

For maximum aim down sight speeds, you want to add a smaller optic, the barrel, remove the FSS ST87 Bolt, and follow the mandatory attachments above.

For small maps with a lot of close corners, CQB fights, and medium-range battles, quickscoping with this setup will be best for you.

Going for the FSS ST87 Bolt improves your fire rate. It helps you a lot in battles when you are either fighting more than one enemy or if you missed your first shot.

You can recover faster with the FSS ST87 Bolt, and it is definitely worth it if you are going to sacrifice some ADS speed.

The optional 8-Round Magazine attachment does a lot for extremely aggressive players. You will constantly find yourself out of ammo, and reloading will always be your downfall, even if you are on fire.

Since game modes like Team Deathmatch, Kill Confirmed, or Domination are played on relatively small maps and players can respawn almost instantly, you will encounter enemies frequently as an aggressive player.

Perks, Tactical, and Lethal

SP X 80 Perks

Double Time will definitely be a mandatory perk for the build because it improves your overall mobility by a big margin.

For your 2nd perk, you can choose between Scavenger or Overkill.

However, most pros and streamers don’t usually go for Overkill (depending on the game mode) because you would rather use one main weapon throughout the game.

Switching weapons between fights isn’t good, but it could be decent if you run out of ammo. Then again, you wouldn’t run out of ammo if you use Scavenger.

SP X 80 overkill

The main idea for Overkill is using a close-range weapon like a PDSW 528 loadout or a Lachmann Sub loadout when you are pushing close-range areas on the map.

Claymores and Proximity Mines are good, even if you are an aggressive player, but you can go for a Semtex or Frag if you want to push enemies out of corners and angles.

For your tactical, using a Stim is good for keeping you up when pushing. You can also use stuns and flashes to push out corners too. It helps a lot if you know there is an enemy where you threw your tactical.

Alternative SP-X 80 Loadout

An alternative to an SP-X 80 loadout would be making the sniper rifle good for sustained long-range accuracy with decent power. Games like Ground War and Invasion are really fun, but the gameplay is a lot different.

The map is extremely big, where you can actually be a camping sniper helping control points and secure areas around the map.

Quickscoping isn’t the only viable option for game modes like this, and here is a different take on the SP-X 80 you can follow.

  • Barrel: None
  • Laser: None
  • Optic: Any preferred optic that increases your ADS Speed (Optional)
  • Stock: PVZ-890 TAC Stock
  • Underbarrel: Cornerstone Bipod
  • Ammunition: None
  • Magazine: None
  • Rear Grip: Schlager Match Grip
  • Receiver: SP-X 80
  • Muzzle: FTAC Dreadnought
  • Bolt: FSS ST87 Bolt

The main difference in attachments for this setup would be the muzzle and underbarrel.

The FTAC Dreadnought muzzle suppression hides your location when shooting because of the sound suppression.

It prevents enemies from detecting you on the minimap, which you should also pair with Ghost and Cold-blooded.

Another way of preventing enemies from spotting you is hiding the glint on your optics. You can replace the FSS ST87 Bolt or the Schlager Match Grip with an optic you prefer that doesn’t show a glint.

The playstyle will be all about camping in crucial areas where there is high traffic on the map.

Adding a Trophy System, Claymore, and Ammunition Box for defense and sustain will help the build a lot.
